I just found out, the reason the plane crashed is because...

The mechanic took one too many bong hits before reparing the turbofan engine and accidently dented one of the turbine blades resulting in a cataclysmic chain reaction, but next season we'll find out that the mechanic really works for the Hanso Foundation and that the island is really one big FOX reality show!

I told you Libby had to die...

That was a very good episode. Where is the pearl on the map? is that one of the other hatches or is it the question mark?

Sgt>Stackem 05-11-2006 08:17 AM

the pearl = ?

do you think the TVs can record? if so do you think there is vid of Michael shooting the girls?

yes, remember when the guy said if anything happens of signifficant importance, to fold it up and put it in the air tube. So its recorded somewhere probably, and also im suprised locke hasnt gone through the list of printout to see if the *other* really entered the code or not

Yep, I figured that's coming. AND ... I wonder if they go back in the log and see that Desmond didn't push the button the day the plane crashed. Maybe that is the revelation in the season finale (someone said we are supposed to find out why the plane crashed).

why would they need people to monitor the televisions if they recorded? I don't think they record. THey might, but I doubt it.

They make recordings in case something big happens and they wanted to see it again at some point or mabye use it as a teaching aide. It's perfectly logical that in addition to people monitoring they'd record as well.

Sgt. Paine 05-11-2006 05:44 PM

You know when the orientation tape bugs out? Has anyone tried to find out if there is a hidden message in those words, played backwards or sped up?

Colonel 05-11-2006 06:00 PM
... find out if there is a hidden message in those words, played backwards [/quote:91372]

It says, "Paul is dead."

On a clock face, The Pearl was at 4.

Edit: "The Pearl" was written at 4. If the "?" in the center was The Pearl, surely whoever created the map would have wrote it there?

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v301/ ... 3bfbf3.jpg

Mr.Buttocks 05-11-2006 07:53 PM

Someone on another forum pointed out something neat. If you look at the dirt (or heroin?) on the tray thing it matches up to the blast door map. The ciggie points to the "?" and the 6 bits of brown shit around it represent the other things on the map.

Maybe all the brown things to the right are other places on the island?

Sirus 05-11-2006 08:18 PM

I dont see how that matches the map at all oOo:

....lol thats probably just coincidence, I seriously doubt lost made that into the shap of the map on purpose. Wow some people totally over analyze things

Blase 05-11-2006 11:51 PM

I agree with sirus. If they were trying to make it look like that why place the white one way out in the middle of nowhere?

Himmler 05-12-2006 02:34 AM

man i love this show i cant wait for next week biggrin: biggrin:

So far season 2 kinda sucks...
[url:13017]http://aboutdharma.org/[/url:13017]
Apparently Dharma is a Zen Buddist philosophy about peace and serenity through physical separation. I think DHARMA is an experimental compound put into an air supply to make people more serene, like Paxx in Serenity. The "Others" are like the Reavers, survivors of this experiment who "maladjusted". hence, Rousseau's "disease".

Also interesting to note is the mention of BF Skinner in the orientation video. If I remember correctly, Skinner was a behaviorologist who put rats in a box with a button. Eventually the rat, through random exploration, would accidentally hit the button, and food would come out. From this would emerge behavior; the rat would press the button. Then they would take the food away, and the rat would eventually stop pressing the button and even avoid it. Then food would be reintroduced, and the rat would press the button again. He programmed the rat. Interesting.,

Im in the middle of the episode "Orientation" (SE2EP03), so If anything I just said makes sense later or is mentioned specifically, STFU.

That site is fake as hell.

First of all, D.H.A.R.M.A. isn't a company, hence it can't be an industry. It's the D.H.A.R.M.A. Initiative.

And secondly, they charge $30 dollars for a pre-membership card. oOo:

[quote:11b83]Now there's good news for "Lost" fans, too. ABC, in announcing its fall TV lineup, has promised "Lost" lovers a schedule next season that won't be so confusing. There'll be no repeats next season.

Trying to follow the "Lost" story, such as it is, this season has been rather challenging because of the seemingly unpredictable scheduling of reruns any given Wednesday night. Apparently someone at ABC was paying attention when fans created a Web site called IsLostARepeat.com, which provides viewers an independent tool to keep track of when the new episodes air.

In the fall, said ABC, "Lost" will return in its usual Wednesday slot for seven straight episodes. The show will then take a break while ABC gives the spot over to a new Taye Diggs detective drama, "Day Break" (sort of a "Groundhog Day" premise in which the character lives the same bad day again and again), for 13 weeks.

When "Lost" returns early in 2007, it won't miss a week until the third season concludes next May, ABC promises.

Sounds like a plan.[/quote:11b83]

7 episodes then a 13 week break. oOo:

I really hope Alex becomes a main character next season; she's rather hot! happy: Next Wednesday can't come quick enough for me, it should be great! rock:

TGB! 05-18-2006 12:00 PM

Couple of thoughts:

WALT is in on it. It may have something to do with a group of crazies kidnapping him, but I'm thinking that his sudden outburst of emotion (from the damn near autistically non-emotional WALT we saw last) was part of the rouse to completely get MICHAEL to do the work of Mrs. CLUE - since WALT gave MICHAEL pretty much everything he has wanted from WALT, "love" and the need for his father ("save me dad!").

As for CLUE's "has Walt ever been where he shouldnt be" - more psychic projection hints? The appearance of Kate's horse, Jacks father, Hurleys friend, drowning Walt, and the polar bear - all powers WALT possesses?

Also - appearantly Michael Emmerson will be a series regular next season.

Google him yourself if you want to know which character it is.

Remember in one of the flashbacks in the first season when Walt was drawing on the floor and the bird crashed into the window and died? The stepdad said somethign about Walt not being right, or that Walt gave him the creeps, something like that.

CoMaToSe 05-18-2006 12:59 PM

I think Walt has a wish fulfillment type power (polar bear, rare bird, wining every game of backgammon, having the ability to AIM his dad on the outdated DHARMA computers, etc)
Now, STFU with 2.22 spoilers!!
