Its not a matter of "fuck this company or that" its a matter of getting the best performance for your money. Looks like the tide is swinging back in favour of intel for a while anyway. As i type this im on a pc with 2 gigs of ram, x800gto 2 with an amd 4400+x2 cpu i just built for my uncle. pretty nice system at that. happy: |
I dont find the need for dual cores right now. But eventually i will. My mobo can handel the dual cores thank god.
I just need another gig of ram asap |
fugging computer is locking up on me
cod2 will just freeze or just down at times nothing major installed - drivers and games really - and wifi app shuttle AN35-N Ultra 1 gig 2x512 Kingston DDR Maxtor 40 gig HD Western Digital 200gig secondary hd Lite-on cd burner amd mobile barton 2500+ could it be the hdd? i don't think it's the ram cuz i just rma'd it for soem new ones like a month or so ago sometimes before the system freezes, i hear a spin up sound in my headphones - much like a cd is spinning up or somthing to that nature kthnx |

Socket am2 is just an upgrade to ddr 2 for amd, performance wise i dunno if there will be much of a difference. |
Conroe is pretty sweet.
Too bad it's over half a year away and intel is still for fags. happy: It's not like AMD is going to sit idly by and let goliath take the performance crown again, even if they have to pull an intel and release insanely overlocked processors that are unstable and run too hot. Glad to see there is some competition in the market again. |

Seen the nvidia reviews yesterday of the 7900gtx and gt, seem to be pretty good boards. Not phantom editions like that 512mb over priced pos either happy:
7900gtx or 1900xtx hm.... |

Not much to know about the new 7900 series, far as ive read theyre the same as the 7800 series with a smaller core size and speedbumped ram and core clock speeds.

fx57 and quad sli 7900gtx benchmarks
F.E.A.R, 2560x1600, soft shadows enabled 47fps - 7900 GTX 512 Quad-SLi 26fps - X1900XTX Crossfire Chronicles of Riddick, 2560x1600, 4xAA/8xAF 82.9fps - 7900 GTX 512 Quad-SLi 53.5fps - X1900XTX Crossfire Doom3, 2560x1600, 4xAA/8xAF 108.9fps - 7900 GTX 512 Quad-SLi 84.0fps - X1900XTX Crossfire Hardly what i would call impressive considering the price premium for quad sli, in the region of 25-30fps faster give or take. Nvidia are for some reason whoring this like its something special though. eek: Hands on benchmarks http://www.vr-zone.com/?i=3314&s=1 that dell renegade to me for some reason looks so cheaply put together. |

In terms of smooth graphics then a pc with a decent graphics card running fsaa will appear a lot smoother than the xbox 360, even though the 360 has fsaa support it doesn't seem to be working too well in a lot of ts games. In terms of polygon counts then probably the 360 seeing as its a fixed platform and the games developers don't have to downscale polygon count for machines with lower specs like pc's. |
ok ty

anyone know the depreciation values of video cards? State estimates and actual. I can't wait to get this 7800 when it drops down to like say $200-250 and then I'll snag one happy:
|
Why don't you just get a new 7800 right now for 300?
I assume you're talking about the Nvidia 7800gt? Might even be cheaper now, I bought mine for $300 back in November. |

Im not paying a dime over 250 so that's why i said ill wait until it drops a little more. Im cheap, yeah i know happy: but i actually thought that the 7800 was a bit higher than that |
my power supply will finally get here tomorrow dance:

I am home, and with the power supply they sent me. I go to hook it up to my mobo and the 24pin connector only has 20 pins on the one in the power supply..... wtf. is it still okay to use? It fits but there are still 4 open spaces on the mobo....
sorry if this is a noobish question, but I really dont want to short out my system. |
