I fucking hate ND, overhyped all year (every year) long. They were still raving about Quinn for Heisman even after his 4 turnover blowout loss to U-M. Michigan dropped to 3 after last night. I don't get it, they lose to the #1 team and they get leapfrogged like that, fuck the BCS. On the other hand, I prefer not to see a rematch against OSU. |

the #3 team in the nation lost to #!

Mike Shula has been fired as the head coach at the University of Alabama. A press conference will be held today @ 2:00. Spurrier could be named as the next head coach then.

I told all ya'll the system is so flawed.

i also heard that it is possible for him to go to Miami. |
Espn radio was talking about the latest rumor.
Bill Cower going to NC state at seasons end. dave Shula got screwed. They didnt even tell him that he was going to fired. He had just met with his team. annoy: |
First off, it's not Dave Shula. That guy runs a restaurant. Second, last Monday there was a private meeting between Mal Moore (AD), Robert Witt (President), the Board of Trustees, Mike Shula, and Malcolm Portera (Chancellor of Alabama, Witt's boss). They practically decided then to fire Shula, but gave him a chance to prove he would make drastic changes to revitalize the program.
Mal Moore gave Shula a chance to present a list of steps he would take to get Bama back on track. He listed moving Connelly (OL) to the TEs, Ungerer (Speacial Teams) to the OL, and would give up the play-calling to Radar (OC). No coaches were proposed by Shula to be fired. If you know Alabama football well enough, it's more than painfully apparent that those aforementioned coaches needed to be fire. Moore was looking for those coaches to be fired, and was not pleased with his approach. He practically told Shula he was done then. I agree they didn't carry out the firing very well, as Shula never had any definite word until after the team meeting @ 9:00 last night. They should have announced it last week. Rumored candidates remain as the following: Steve Spurrier (favorite) Nick Saban Rich Rodriguez Bobby Petrino Jim Grobe (Wake Forest) Paul Johnson (Navy) Butch Davis (even though he's a verbal for UNC, he did the same exact thing @ Bama several years ago before pulling out @ the last second) Obviously the most desired coach on that list is Spurrier. The recruit potential with Spurrier at a school like Alabama, a school that consistently recruits around the top 10-15 every year, would be immense. |
I hope Paul Johnson stays at Navy, he's had them playing well for years, making the other academies look like fools. Too bad they might get matched up against Clemson in their bowl game this year....

lol , Yeah I realized I typed Dave Instead of Mike after I logged off. I decided not to correct it, I knew someone would beer: it was no suprise to me that he was gone. I just think the the way they handled it was very poor. To not even be able to give your team a heads up is wrong. I hope they don't get Spurrier. The west will just get extremely tuff. He will be able to recruit well there. |
