mistake number one. not a hawks fan. not a hockey fan. the sport is dying, if it wasnt for espn picking up the giant tv contract for this past year hockey would have folded. its definately going ot be a lockout yr next season....so prepare to sleeping:

perhaps back in the day when i used to play ice hockey and rollerblade hockey in the early 90's and the hawks went to the cup, ya i like hockey. but, having an owner that truly sucks MONSTER cock including not televising your own teams homegames stupid: makes one want to hate the game over time.

however, give me some ea sports nhlpa sega hockey circa 94-95 and i will definately be on board for that swingers style rock: "GRETSKY'S a BITCH!"

whatever, I dont really like basketball, I usually watch the final games. Hope Pistons beat the Lakers though.

[quote:63e44]well, i may as well come out with it. i never disliked hockey in the first place lol. it all stems down to the fact that all during last yr's baseball playoff season, every thread made (and there were a dozen or so) about the games were bombarded with hockey fans (mostly canadians) who would spam every thread with "baseball sucks" "baseball = " and so on , and so forth. so, i vowed that as soon as hockey season started that i would do the same, out of spite i tried explaining this before, but after i did "hockey = " in one thread a while ago and zoner erased it saying "plz dont post your negative comments about hockey" that really ticked me off. because not once, did any of the mods erase any of the countless anti baseball posts of the exact same nature in those threads.

so, that is it. all out of spite, the whole time my goal was to make the hockey fans realize how annoying it was, but no one made the connection lol. so, it has failed.

for the record...i grew up playing hockey. in the winter as a kid we would go into a frozen pond in st. kashimir cemetary in south side chicago heh. when it got warm out , me and my buds were on the cutting edge in the early 90's..playin rollerhockey. i have nothin against hockey, i just got very frustrated during nov and october last yr, not being able to read any baseball thread without ze spam.

yeah, in my last post i never said i disliked it so whats your point? i was just stating thats its time for this thread to die now, and i am grateful that its finally unstickied. perhaps now i will make my "Official Baseball Thread" but im not even bothering, because it wouldnt be stickied because we know all the mods love hockey. also, it would be destroyed with all the hockey fanboys on this forum, and frankly, i am just sick of this argument. like your sports people, whatever they are oOo:

Hey, if people want to talk baseball, I'm not going to stop you.

The reason ti was stickied was so you didn't have to see 10 different posts a day on hockey.

How many people want to talk about baseball here? Probably like 3.

ninty 06-10-2004 04:10 PM

This was the rally today for the flames. Police said there were 25,000-30,000 people down at Olympic Plaza across from City Hall which would be on the left behind the big building.

You can see the stage on the left where all the players came out, and I was under that tree. I got there at 10:00am this morning. The players came out at 12:30pm. CAn't wait until next year for teh Stanley Cup parade. There will be 1,000,000 people out for that.

Warning: Huge pic:

Blue Jays, Yankees, WhiteSox > all

Red Sox, Cubs and Giants suck the most balls.

Calgary got robbed by the lines men in Game 6 so fuck it. Inginla didn't kick it in it deflected off his fucking skate and the pricks stole it. Tampa doesn't deserve the fucking cup.

All I have to say is I can't wait for next year!

Hopefully there is a next year.

Between now and then I have the NHL Awards, NHL Draft and Training camp to keep me busy!

Himmler 06-10-2004 09:16 PM

In about the last 5 minutes in Game 7, it was bullshit because Tampa tripped like 2+ guys, one crosschecked someone in front of the Tampa goalie, which should've been a penalty. Calgary deserved the cup. Not Tampa. But trhen again, Iginla did touch the division cup, or conference cup, w/e its called.

ninty 06-10-2004 09:19 PM

Campbell Bowl.

And who caress if he touched it. That had nothing to do with the outcome of the series. I HATE superstitions. Their rediculious.

baseball is the purest game there is, its a shame you dont get it. some do, some dont. i like the fact that ppl think its boring. rock:

TonyMontana 06-10-2004 10:18 PM

i think soccer is the team sport that takes the most talent, skill, and conditioning. I know I'll probably get flamed, but running for 90 minutes is tough. It takes a lot of skill to become a good soccer player. Also, soccer is played all over the world, in probably almost every country.

I think it would be easier to watch baseball if I had a team. But i'm not going to cheer for any of the teams already out there. I do watch the playoffs though.

hahahaa tell that to roberto baggio that year when he missed that shootout goal to win the cup calmdown: he blew it for them bigtime

TonyMontana 06-10-2004 10:38 PM

yea, one miss, but they would have assassinated him i think if he scored, but anyway, he had a great career, other than that miss. it was sad to see him retire this year

it is un-canadian to not cheer the blue jays!

ninty 06-10-2004 11:14 PM

Hah! Yeah right.

I do kind of cheer for the jays, you can't really help but cheer for the teams in your own country, but I really don't care enough about baseball.
