FUCK
Ok so I got my new components for my computer - mobo, cpu, vid card and ram.
I install everything fine, and go to turn on the machine. Only certain items power on: CPU Fan, Vid Card fan and Power Supply (obviously). DVD/CD players dont power on (unless the cords connecting them to the mobo are disconnected), and my LCD monitor doesnt come on (or recognize vid card - it is poweredO. Mobo is refurbished (yea yea) so I have no documentation. This is what was ordered: [quote:95e3f]BIOSTAR NF4ST-A9 Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 ATX AMD Motherboard - OEM Item #: N82E16813138248R $45.60 Track 1 AMD Athlon 64 3000+ Venice 1GHz HT Socket 939 Processor Model ADA3000BPBOX - Retail Item #: N82E16819103537 $135.00 Track 1 eVGA 256-P2-N553-AX Geforce 7600GT 256MB GDDR3 PCI Express x16 Video Card - Retail Item #: N82E16814130283 $189.00 Track 1 mushkin 1GB (2 x 512MB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM DDR 400 (PC 3200) Unbuffered Dual Channel Kit System Memory Model 991145 - Retail[/quote:95e3f] Honestly dont know whats going on. So annoyed right now, Im thinking of just sending every damn thing back. Mobo cant be fried or it wouldnt turn on, but only certain items are getting power and powering on. So fucking frustrating. And how the hell can I send this fucking thing back if the damn superglue on this CPU is good and hardened. . . wallbash: |
check your wiring, mobos are finicky about that
|
What do you mean wiring - nothing is connected to the mobo except power supply when Im doing the drastic measure testing.
|
Could just be a duff mobo. I've had a couple in the past. Do you have a post LED screen on your mobo (a screen with numbers on, what number does it get stuck on) then look it up in your manual.
|
No - its a pretty simple MOBO.
Would it be friend and still supply power to the CPU Fan and Video Card? And if it is fucked - how do I get the damn Heat Sink off - fucker is stuck like cement. |
Cpu or graphics board id say. This kind of error crops up all the time and theres no "definate" answer as to what can be causing the problem.
|
Wow - you think its the Processor and NOT the mobo? Would the Mobo still boot up if it were the CPU? I dont think its the video-card because I put two AGP cards into the slot and it behaved the same.
Im gonna grab another board from a local retailer (fuck NEWEGG) and see if it boots up. . . But I didnt do anything to the CPU but move it from the box to the board, and I got no WARNING BEEPS (ill check to make sure I plugged the case speaker in right). |
Hard to say what it is really, ive seen this kind of error encountered by either mobo, cpu or gfx card being bad.
|
Ok - I thought you were ruling out the MOBO being the problem (which was the only used component).
Hopefully this board: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6813157081 Will have all the cables I need so I dont need to worry about it being a cable issue, or whatnot. Man I so hate dealing with computer errors and shit like this. I just want to game and be able to watch porn in crystal clear definition. |
w00t my dad just gave me his dual channel 2 512 sticks of Corsair XMS ram, now i have 2 gigs biggrin:
|
Fucking everybody has 2 gigs but me. cuss: loney:
Just you lot wait. mad: |
I only have 1.5, which is kinda strange I guess...

Id send it back if i were you, thats a regular x800gto, should maybe pay the extra nad get an x850 xt be sure you;re getting a proper card.
|
how good is a
Intel® Pentium® D processor 830 3.0GHZ, 800Mhz FSB and ATI x1600 pro 256mb |
The pentiums decent, should be able to overclock it a good bit, the x1600 pros a piece of wank.
|

looked around done some research, seems like sapphire sneeky fucks released this 3rd version gto2 with a r430 core bah. Sent RMA request to ebuyer and hopefully will be able to get the real gto2 from http://www.microdirect.co.uk/ProductInf ... &GroupID=0
|
They are sneaky fucks in how they do it, slap a gto2 heatsink on it and put it into a gto2 box. annoy:
|
rofl I told you fags that you couldn't unlock GTO2s anymore
Just get a 7600GT and be done with it. |

well it came today, the actual last version with the r480 core and power connector, and yes 16 pipes straight out of the box. overclocked it to 540/590 from the stock 400/490 to give it XT PE speeds but took it down until i can find a decent enough gpu cooler.
then heres my final built system, thanks for the help ladeies. |

Arctic Cooling ATI 4 (X800 Series) VGA Silencer That should be good enough, and pretty much silent. |
I'll keep it short...
Problem : CD-Drives and USB Hard-Drive don't show up in my computer but the CD-Drives show up in the BIOS, the other thing is the external drive shows up when I turn it off but when it gets switched on it disappears. ( oOo: ) So what the fuck is going on? |
Probably your master\slave settings on the cd drive jumper. Set it to cable select and see if it shows in windows.
|
Nevermind, it's fixed bad cable. Now I'm still having a problem with random lock-ups and random blackscreens. I was told about memory conflicts with software but how the hell do I go about checking for things like that?
|
Probably better off updating all your drivers. If the problm sill there then format or something, i don;t spend much time fucking around with software to find out what the problem is, i just nuke the lot. biggrin:
