Juventus could goto Serie LMNOP for all i care. crooked fucks. At least the team i support is clean.

Sicilian_Summers 07-14-2006 10:25 PM

It will be interesting to see where Cannavaro, Buffon, Nedved, etc. wind up as a result of this whole scandal.

Here's a decent article about it: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/footbal ... 150260.stm

The ironic thing is that Sicily now has 3 teams in Serie A biggrin:

Yeah, it's pretty much a two horse race between Inter and AS Roma.

I want Cannavaro to stay in Italy cry:

AHAHA

TonyMontana 07-20-2006 12:01 PM

It's amazing what being a former FIFA footballer of the year can do for you. Almost gives you immunity from doing anything wrong. (See Figo headbutt).

Let's compare. Daniele De Rossi gets a 5 match ban for elbowing Brian McBride. De Rossi was a first time offender, and because it was the elbow on nose, he bled.

Materazzi gets headbutted in the chest after 115min of play. Soccer players have randomly died on the pitch after having their heart stop. Hitting Materazzi in the chest with that force could have potentially made his heart stop. Not to mention Zidane has been involved in foul play numerous times.

The ruling is ridiculous, but whatever.

Materazzi has the cup, Zidane has a tarnished career.

Machette 07-20-2006 12:25 PM

Erm didn't Zidane win that prestigous Golden ball award at the end?

Just stfu tony sleeping:

You seem to conveniently forget that italians will pull off a theatrical dive after being smacked with a feather nevermind a headbutt which after looking at the video never even seemed to have that much force behind it. plzdie:

Machette 07-20-2006 12:46 PM

gg Italy v. Australia.

Italy practices dives in their fucking practices..worst team ever. It was great seeing totti dive a few times in the Italy v. Germany game that decided who would go on to the finals. That's worse than when Essien dived in the penalty box when no one was around him. Forget who they played in that game.

lol well whenever someone brings that up, i always think its because they watched that stupid youtube video of the players practicing diving. people think its real oOo:

and the Italians don't dive, they embellish biggrin:

Machette 07-20-2006 12:55 PM

I know it's a strategy, to some, I think it's wrong in football. Hopefully for 2010 they put another ref on the field, cause I'm going to get tickets. rock:

If I was Italy...I would.

They know it's the only way they can possibly win.

RaNgeR 07-20-2006 03:24 PM

I was in Italy when they won... it was WILD! I did kind of want France to win, since they did knock out Brazil. Our rental car had french plates, some wop spit on my shoes when I got out. wtf? lol. Anyways, I do agree that Zidane's headbut was pushing it, but like Tony said he did tarnish his career - which I believe is the worst part, since it was his last game. GG france annoy:

Machette 07-20-2006 04:06 PM

That's why everyone in France is calling him a hero. oOo:

wow, what a douche. Looks like he seriously hurt two of em, too.

TonyMontana 07-20-2006 05:46 PM

yea he does play dirty, yet he's only had 1 red card in the last 5 years

its great to base a person's career on a 2 min video showing 5 dirty tackles

eeves 07-20-2006 06:06 PM

Rofl thats bs...out of all i saw in that video - in every single dirty play he should have received a red card...

Tony...lets say i have beaten five girls and you have seen me doing it...Wouldnt you judge me? Wouldnt you think that i would do it again? Also by saying" yea he does play dirty, yet he's only had 1 red card in the last 5 years" are you suggesting that that is a good thing?

07-20-2006 08:47 PM

how did zidane tarnish his career, if this was his last game before retirement?
