Shit like that normally happens when you change res\anti aliasing settings while in the game. Are you using 4.12 beta drivers?

No, I'm using 04.11 Catalyst drivers and no AA.

When it comes to video card drivers I tend to stay away from the Beta's....

Try the 4.12's they include performance boost for hl2, will probably fix that problem as well.

First install this

Finished HL2 today. I have no reservation in saying HL2 is the greatest game overall to date.

I finished Halo 2 today as well, and it's good, but since it's on a console, that bugged me a whole lot and probably took away from my experience of it, not to mention that i'm confused as hell as to what is going on there.

hrm i love Halflife2, im still at the beginning, but i have a small problem with CSS, it crashes for some reason on map changes..and i mean at random times..

I had HL2 for two days now...probably only played it for an hour. It's good but i'm not blown away.
