My Dads Father was French Canadian. His great great ... grandfather came to Canada in 1624 I believe and setteled in Quebec. He was the First "Trudel" (my last name) to come to North America. So on my dads side, i'm like 10th generation Canadian. Hes really famous for some reason or another. He was really popular in France and there are tons of webpages on him. Kinda neat stuff. So don't diss him.

[quote="Pfc.Green":76de5]Well I know these for sure:
German[/quote:76de5] ICH BIEN DER SCHWEINEHUNDE!!!! oOo: |
1/2 Norwegian
1/4 irish 1/4 Polish Give it up for Norway, "ya"... LOL |
Anyone wanna clue me in on just how the fuck people can determine the percentages of this?
|
Well if your father was from Italy and you mother from USA, then you'd be 1/2 Italian, 1/2 USA. Then keep tracing back. Simple as that. Probably doesn't work well for Europeans since you guys have been there for hundreds of years, but for those of us in North America, most of our parents or grandparents came from europe etc.

okay......anyways. back to black hawk down..........
ammo, um yeah.... u got a point, b/c we see how quickly one of those delta snipers (who dies in is efforts trying to save Durant, r.i.p. to him) runs out of ammo, where as the rangers hiding in the building seem to never run out of ammo |

Shootouts in bars.... half the time spent reloading. |
I'm guessing they probably had about 12-20 mags each, so that's 360-600 rounds, some may have had more. If they had four ALICE ammo pouches, that's 3 in each I think so that's 12, then they probably maxed out in other pouches/pockets, like Twombly says in film (and in real event): "you're not gonna need that dude [NV], you might as well take dope and beer [ammo]"
so where they kept NV/waterbottle/rations/equipment, they may have put extra mags. In my webbing and uniform, I'd guess I can hold 23 mags in my webbing - 12 in ammo pouches, 3 in each utility pouch and about 5 in respirator pouch, then if I put ammo in the pockets of my combats I could hold another 8-11, so I think I could hold about 35 maximum, boy I can't wait until I'm in the army. I'm not disagreeing with you entirely, but maybe a bit. Oh here's another thing. In the battle at night, in the film Kurth says he's out of ammo and Eversmann gives him his last mag, but Kurth and Eversmann only say they are out in the morning eek: |

And why was one of the snipers using what appeared to be an m-14? Surely he woulda had a proper rifle, thats him in yer sig. |
M-21 (modified 14 obviously) i've read about it being used in some operations but i have no idea if it was standard issue or not
seems to be suited for an urban environment like that to me but who knows with movies |
yep, Shughart used the M14 (or 21, not sure), because it's quick, accurate and powerful (7.62mm). You wouldn't go into a combat zone with a bolt action rifle like an L96 or anything more powerful that 7.62
