but how do u know that was omaha beach?, it could of been anywere. well not anywere but u know.

intrestedviewer 08-17-2001 11:54 PM

i dont recall any actual footage of omaha beach LANDING. Some guy took about a hundred pics and then when he got to developing them he fucked up cause he was in a rush and only like 10 developed. But he said he was so afraid on the beach that he was finding himeself running back to the boats unable to turn and face the beach. hell i dont think any actual live footage was taking on landing. mayne near the end of it, when the gunners were dead and the mines uncovered.

I forgot wut page i went too, but it was a great page bout Normandy Landings and after d-day.. I clicked OMaha Beach and looked at all the pics and stuff.. Then i saw something that was an actual newsreel that showed that imgae of the 4 guys running and 2 get hit by machine gun fire. The newsreel was titled "things shaky at Omaha" or something like that.

Kaiser: I think you're right.. there aren't that many men on the beach because they are first wave, I also bet about 45% of the wave was already dead or dying. So that why there aren't too many men. But in the end of the last video where hes looking out of the bunker there must be about 30 or so men scrambling about.

the reason that many men were on the beach was that a lot of boats sank and most soldiers drowned because they got out of their higgins boats in the deep places. Remember SPR, soldiers that jump of the boat find them selves in 8 feet deep water and u see one of them drown and the rest get shot.
Most of the soldiers that were killed were drowned becuz of their heavy equipment. Imagine ur self carrying 40-50 pounds of shit on u, while trying to swim...

Kaiser 08-18-2001 07:51 AM

thats the reason for this post.. I was complainin earlier about not enufff men on beach, but then i realized the first wave didnt have much men left. They were all pretty much wiped out.. But i just hope you dont run out of men on the OMaha Beach level.. Say if i wanna play around and scramble throughout the whole beach i dont want to be the only sole left. I want guys constantly commin..

Kaiser 08-18-2001 10:31 AM

some of those pics taken on Omaha were the first wave man.. Why do u think their is hardly any1 on beach, cuzz they just started arriving..

Kaiser 08-18-2001 10:52 AM

havent u seen the footage of those couple guys runnin, and like 2 get killed from machine gun fire.. Thats not after the bunkers are cleared, thats the beggining.. Im sure there were more than juss 1 photographer on beach

Kaiser 08-18-2001 11:24 PM

thats the exact page i got it from! Thanks!! as you see, there are a couple guys runnin, and 2 get mowed down, that had to be the first wave..

intrestedviewer 08-18-2001 11:30 PM

it shows it a lot more clear in the moh ps intro

Koshi 08-18-2001 11:31 PM

Those vids are DEFINATELY after the beach was taken. Those guys are just relaxing and talking.

intrestedviewer 08-18-2001 11:41 PM

how could those shots be of the first wave? those guys r walking up the beach. the camera guy was just sitting there.

Koshi 08-19-2001 01:19 AM

Yea. No way theyre of the first-third wave.

Kaiser 08-19-2001 01:25 AM

that must have not been that same vid then.. I swear to u guys there is this short film, of 4 guys runnin up the beach, and 2 get hit by machine gun fire.. Its in all the documentary's of Omaha, and even in the SPR documentry they have.. (if u guys have dvd)
