Goods:
1)Great sound
2)Good looking modles
3)Good animation
4)Good sniper mode.

Bad:
1) I have to jump in order to get on a plank that is 1 inch high. Very lame.

2)The grenade and Rocket explosion radius seem to be random. There is definitly something wrong with them. I can stand next to a grenade and not even get hurt, but if I'm across the room I'll get killed. I've even been killed when I was in an adjacent room, not even near the wall. I've shot the rocket at a guy on the balcony. The shell exploded right next to his feet. He dropped to 4 health, he should have been killed.

3) LAG, LAG LAG LAG. The worst lag I've ever seen. Some people here have not experinced any lag problems. Thats great. But I know I have great amounts of lag. All of my friends that have tried it also feel the same.

4) I have DSL and I can only host between 4-6 people. After 10 minutes of play their ping jumps from 80 to 999. Then they drop or quit the game. The netcode is screwed up.

5) I hate this map and the fact that its DM. Sure some people have cracked it and we can play Teamplay now. But who was the idiot that made that decission to release DM. A great thanks goes out to those who figured out how to make the Teamplay work.

6) Running speed is ok But I think it should be sprint speed not Jog speed. i think you should be able to sprint, but have a stamina bar so you can sprit for a little while before you have to stop to rest.

7) It takes 4 shots to the body to kill someone. I think it should be 2. Also one shot to the head by any gun should be a kill. I've sneaked up no snipers and fully unloaded 20 shots, of course probably only 2-3 bullets hit because of the recoil. But then the sniper turn around kills me with one shot to the body. Thats just wrong.

I expected MOH to be an immersive, realistic game Private Ryan type game, both as a single player and as MP.

Over all I am disapointed.

If you wanted a realistic SPR MP game you would live about maybe 30 seconds after you hit the beach if you are lucky.

The player speed is perfect because:

Trying to shoot a moving target and hitting them is not realistic and I'm glad to see 2015 made it so that if your shooting at say a guy running and you have a SMG theres no way in hell you can go fully auto and kill him if hes running, your shots go all over and you cant move your aim much while firing which is pretty accurate.

I also wanted to ask about the hitboxes, can anyone tell me what they are, relevant to damage, say 1 shot to the head will kill vs 3 shots to the body, anyone got that kind of info?

The lag is defianitly retarted, I move outta 1 room and all of a sudden I'm like back 3 rooms away from where I just was, I hate that, but I'm not sure what to do about it or if it is just server problems. Maybe is just my gay ass Comcast Cable modem , I wouldnt doubt that.

The collision bug that makes you jump to get over that plank has been fixed for the final game. Unfortunately, that did not get fixed in time for the demo.

killaman 12-18-2001 03:59 AM

I take it that you are a 2015 staff? If so could you also inform us about the lag and the explosion radius/model of rockets and gernades?
I am sure we would all benifit from it.

Thank you for participating in this forum and for aleaviating some of our concerns.

P.S. can you fix the bounce of the grenade please. It bounces like a ball.

Thanks.

K i'll cover a few things.

On the positive side the sounds are great. I find myself playing as an allied sniper just for the awesome sound of the rifle.

The engine is pretty stable and shows some promise BUT I must say it was not utilized at in any way by having good textures and good lighting. I'm sorry, but its some bland stuff. If there were decent textures and lighting then it would look %100 better.

As for the blast radius problem that was pretty troublesome.

And now for my main point: THE BAD NET CODE
please please fix it in the final version. It is bringing down the whole fun of the game. It is not just me, talking to a lot of people around gamespy it is apparent that there is something wrong. It takes away from everything. Also please have an in game match-making service for internet play, no-one likes having to use gamespy, especially when the game cant be minimized so you have to quit to join a game.

As a final note I believe a demo should not be released if it has as many problems as this has. It only raises doubts about the final product. I personally am not going to buy this product until I see a demo update that addresses the issues raised in this forum so far.

P.S. The running speeds are just right. It feels like you are an half-exhausted soldier wearing 50 pounds of equiptment. Which IS realistic. And the weapons are realistic (Take a bullet in the stomach and feel if you like sprinting around).

Man, I so loved this demo. I am so sick of 100 % fast paced q3 engined games. This is a breath of fresh air. This game has my $$. I have been havign such a blast with this demo that if there are any quirks I am yet to notice it. I see some ppl complaing about lag ? I have not experienced this yet even with a 20 player game. For me game is a shitload of fun adn thats that, I am so hanging for the finla for single play to http://www.alliedassault.com/ubb/smile.gif

I enjoyed the game i agree with a earlier post and wish they put prone in the game but i see why they dont snipers dont need it to be accurate( or any other gun) they can almost run /strafe and shoot with accuracy. The other thing i didnt like was the bazooka namely someone can be pointblank shoot you with it and they be unharmed i really didnt like that at all ( if i died they should die too it was a point blank shoot). Other than that i like this game.

I want to adress a few issues touched on here and bring up a few myself, I play Day of Defeat the Half-Life WW2 mod, that is my reference for the most part, and what I want is something better and this just might be it!

It takes a few games to get the feel for MOH:AA if you played it only 5 times and still dont like it, play it 15 times in a row and you will get better and see why some things are the way they are, first one is player speed, this is a very important topic, you need a jog not a full out run to play this game, or else it would turn into a Q3 style game will fools using the RL everywhere, this needs style and grace and concentration and most of all stradegy, the player speed is perfect IMO, however the way he "bounce walks" makes it seem laggy or something at first before you get used to it, and the player seems to get stuck on corners and things alot.

The weapons I think could use tweaking, I think the garand need to be better, its a rifle, 1 shot in the chest or head and you sould die, 2 shots in the leg and you should die, it takes more skill then the sniper rifle at long ranges because theres no scope but should do more damage then currently.

The scoring needs to reflect good gameplay stradegy, if you are a grenade launcher and the only way you get kills is by killing yourself in the process you should not be awarded a 1 - 1, kill - death ratio, I think a 0 - -1 ratio is better because it means you know what you are doing, the grenade launcher is too powerful yet making it less powerful is unrealistic, maybe a 2 sec more reload would be better, or maybe on another map it would be more proctical I just dont like it much in this map.

I think little extras go a long way in replayability and making a lasting impression on the FPS MP community as a whole, DoD has those extras adn it is why it is still the most played WW2 MP game out there. I think MOH:AA needs to incoroprate the same kinds of extras or make a few new ones, such as:

1) Proning, this really is a necessity, especially after playing DoD and seeing how important and fun it makes a game, this could add to weapon accuracy as well, increase it when prone. Prone = on the floor in a crawling/sniping position for those that dont know.

2) Bleeding, the health kits I think are good, but maybe instead there could be a way you could bleed and lose health over time and have to bandage yourself and keep going, this is also in DoD and makes for interesting situations, like "Damn Im shot should I go for the flag and see if I make it before I bleed out or bandage up and wait for a better oppertunity, but then it might be too late!" see the potential.

3) Medics? They are hated, they are loved, I think if anyone could pull off a well rounded medic MOH:AA could but this dosent seem like it will happen.

4) Anything else! Make something up 2015 Make some cool extras that will keep ppl coming back for more!

Also this community seems really great and positive and there are already a few Mods like the blood patch that I love, great work guys you rock, keep it up. I am a skinner for DoD skins and I think I might just give MOH:AA a crack I think you guys would like what I have to offer!

Frightmare you should post that in board of developers as well so it will get some 2015 attention.

I think some of you are being a bit too critical here. Its just a quick multiplayer demo of unfinished code. I wouldnt be too quick to judge the singleplayer game just yet. Also the lag Ive run into is ppl trying to run servers on connections that shouldnt be hosting games. The couple of real servers Ive been on have worked pretty damn good. Ive got cable and I damn sure dont expect to host anything, and I even have a decent upload speed. So just be weary of servers with cable IP's.

As for me I was blown away by how good it sounded, looked, and played. I was really into DOD for a while, but sadly have not played it much lately as its stuck being a HL mod, and HL is full of too many cheaters. So now DOD is too full of the leetdoods and cheaters for me.

This is looking to be something very fun, both single and multiplayer.

<HR></BLOCKQUOTE>

well I run a small 4 man sniper game and I have a cable modem...everyone gets decent pings and there is rarely any lag...I dunno what everyone is bitching about "don't host if you have a cable/dsl/whatever" I can do it...........

For your information I used to be a sprinter at school for athletics (almost 6 years ago) so I know a thing or 2 about running. The pace your wishing for WOULD be unrealistic.

What a load of shit! Being a sprinter has nothing to do with it. That pace is a quick walk NOT a jog! And if you wanted to run in open areas where can be shot at (the court yard) you ain't gonna jog there! Or mabe you've ran in ww2 as well? P.S this is a GAME not real life. Simulations can only go so far before they become unplayable and boring, and by the way I prefer realistic games to the likes of quake etc.

I am an avid player of RTCW AND MOH:AA.
I am NOT going to start comparing the two, there is great things and crappy things about both and it is pointless to compare two COMPLETELY different games.
My pet peev aout MOH:AA is this.....where are the darn command-line strings??? I LOVE hosting small, sniper only games but some butthead has to come in and grab a machine gun and start messing up my game....How do you kick them of your server?I tried pressing the ~(tilde) key to bring up the Command console so that I can enter a string that would kick him out....but everything I typed there just showed up as chat text....(!?)What Am I doing wrong??Where can i find the right sommand string to kick people off of my server???
.............uh...........oh,yeah MOH:AA ROX,great job 2015....!!!!
