The new dod beta coming up with infact have the M1-Carbine. As for the tommy gun at hardware stores for cheap, im not sure thats right. FOr awhile I thought that was true, but after reading more about it, Im not sure what to believe, because it cost $350 to make. In the vietnam war, they started out using the M14 (AWSOME WEAPON) but replaced it with the M16a1, so that much is true (right now the M16A2 is used for the army, but other forces use the M3 and M4)

The Thompson didn't have a 50 round drum that was used by gangsers, the TOMMY gun (almost same thing, but diff in many ways) did, and was used by the gangsers. Altho the thompson could use a drum clip, it was NEVER used, because it was so weird on it.

Hahaha, no. 50 Round drum magazines WERE used, and in quite an abundance in the PTO. The version with the drum magazine had an extended barrel and a vertical foregrip. I've also seen some Thompsons with the drum magazine attached, obviously some modifications done to the weapon.

The M16A2 is used by not only the Army, but the Marine Corps, Navy, Airforce, Coast Guard and National Guard. There is also the COlt M4A1 which is mainly used by the more Elite Forces. The Canadians use an M16A2 Variant named the C7A1.

well you are half right man.....the carbine didn't have that great of stopping power...BUT it did hold a lot of bullets,and if you shot someone 10 or so times with a 22....they'd go down....lol

actually the m1 carbine has .30 cal bullets, not the regular ,30cals but one thatlooks like a big pistol round

Question: Was the M14 used in WWII at all?

On a side note, the Tommy Gun in the game, the M1, didn't have the fifty round drum, it wasn't fitted for adaptation of drum magazines, only box (heh, and everyone loves box) magazines. It was the M1923 that had drum magazines.

Something like 100000 were made, but the war was so close to ending (the war in Europe had already ended) that sending them out to units was of no use.

The first ever M14 variant was designed with the M1 Garand body, just changing the mechanics inside and adding a magazine attachment. It fired something around 700 rounds per minute, but it weighed a heap.

Many changes were made up until 1957. They finally approved what we know as the M14 today. It was used widely as the standard rifle through the 1960's. The M21 or XM21 as it was known in the 60's was the accurised sniper version. A scope attached to the top and match grade ammuntion was used for greater accuracy.

In 1969 the M14 was almost widely replaced by M16A1 and sold off to countries with military aid programs. But you'll still see Spec Ops guys using this rifle because it is such a hard hitting and accurate weapon. SEAL Teams in Operation Desert Storm used it widely. It is also used by the Marine Corps for it's Snipers.

The Marine Corps isn't a club you can join or leave, its a brotherhood. Once you become a Marine you become part of a group and not even death changes that. Once a Marine ALWAYS a Marine.

Sure they did, though it was not standard Landser issue. I've got a friend with a German shotgun that was part of a Luftwaffe pilot's "ground survival kit." I'll have to track him down to get the markings off of it.
