Not really a joke, but...

Okay, here is one very strange law,

Section 49 of the Criminal Code of Canada is entitled "Acts intended to alarm Her Majesty" eek: eek:

I'm not making this up, I couldn't even if I wanted to. eek:

This is what S. 49 says:
[quote:2b68f]
Everyone who wilfully, in the presence of Her Majesty,

(a) does an act with intent to alarm Her Majesty or to break the public peace, of

(b) does an act that is intended or is likely to cause bodily harm to Her Majesty,

is guilty of an indictable offence and liable to imprisonment for a term not exceeding fourteen years.

More "Disorder in the Court"...

Here's some more from Disorder in the Court:

[quote:c0fa1]
Defense: Do you now wear corrective glasses?
Witness: There are three of you?
Defense: No. There's only one of me.

Judge: Well, there is Spooky, Smiley, Sleepy?
Defense: I don't think there is a Smiley. New Bone?
Witness: There is a Smiley, too.
DA: I meant to say with Spooky?
Witness: Yes.
Judge: Yes. Was Droopy there?
Witness: No, Droopy was at the store. He was there, though.
Judge: I accept that.
DA: What is your nickname?
Witness: Looney.
DA: Looney. No further questions.

DA: Objection, Your Honor, calls for speculation.
Judge: Overruled, unless you can qualify it as to her having been told.
Defense: You mean sustained, Your Honor?
Judge: Pardon?
Defense: Did you mean objection sustained or overruled?
Judge: I'm sorry. If I said sustained, I meant - overruled, I meant sustained, unless -
Defense: Thank you. I'll rephrase the question.
[/quote:c0fa1]

I'll post more later.
