I've got a PIII=500mhz and the demo ran fine for me...no stutter at all.
Something is wrong with either your vid card, memory, or drivers. You should be able to run it fine. Post your specs, we'll take a look at what you have, and figure out the problem. ------------------ 34th SS-Freiwilligen-Grenadier-Division Landstorm Nederland "Meine Ehre heißt Treue" |
I loved Operation Flashpoint. That was the first game that got my heart throbbing. The game puts you into a live stance. It makes you feel like you are there. If I rated it, I would have to give it a 4.5/5 because it is extremely good! The game will be choppy if you don't have enough memory and CPU Speed! Also to make sure to update all your drivers, including Directx. Everyone, go out and get the DEMO!

Wanna laugh ?
K6-2 500mhz 192megs pc133 sd ram NVidia TNT2 32megs SB Awe64 Win ME. I can barely run Project IGI (it's choppy) Counter-Strike / DoD are also a bit choppy but fairly playable.. No one lives forever crashes on me all the time on lowest settings (I walk a bit and then boom.) Op. Flashpoint is choppy as hell on the lowest settings. Quake 3 seems to run fine on 800x600 medium settings .. but let's not forget it's all closed environments.. So there you have it.. the rantings of a sad sad man http://www.pcgamers.net/ubb/frown.gif |
Looks like we've had different experiences with AMD's. http://www.pcgamers.net/ubb/smile.gif

That is very awkard for you BillyBob, to not be able to run the game fine. You've got a pretty good setup bro. Only hole I find is the AMD part. The only AMD Chips I find useful are the new ThunderBirds w/266FSB. Everything below that is crap. Oh and you should upgrade all your new drivers, and Solidus same goes for you. The K6-2 is crappier than a Celeron bro. Everything else looks fine your system.

if you have a VIA chipset get the latest 4.31 I think... 4in1 drivers, everything will run alot better. Solidus, try using Windows 98 SE instead of Win ME. ME is crap, it's on my dads computer and is very unstable especially if you only have the update version. Try a system format, install Win 98 SE and install all the latest drivers for your hardware, and maybe try the Detonator 11.01 drivers for your video card, might improve some aspects of gameplay/fps.
Actually, all AMD CPU's are very good and cheap to boot. Dont buy Intel. AMD Thunderbird or Palamino are the way of the future, even Duron are good. They are very overclockable especially the new 1.4 Ghz CPU with an MSI K7TPro R 266 Mobo, which I'm getting within a few weeks http://www.pcgamers.net/ubb/biggrin.gif http://www.pcgamers.net/ubb/biggrin.gif http://www.pcgamers.net/ubb/biggrin.gif http://www.pcgamers.net/ubb/biggrin.gif [This message has been edited by BallisticWookie (edited June 24, 2001).] |
