That REALLY sucks.

The way the military goes is you don't know certian things until they happen, or until you see it written on paper.

If you sign up for 6 years say, you serve your six, then you sign a paper, boom you're done, right? Nope. You acutally sign up for 8. 6 Active, 2 inactive. These last two years are reserved if there is a war/chrsis on our hands, and we need more troops. You are basically still considered enlisted for those two years, but you don't have to goto drill when required. That's what happened to Totenkopf, sounds like. hake:

HAH! Slavery making the US a world power?? Actually, it was WWII that made us one of the few superpowers today.

I don't see how slavery made us a "superpower" like we are today. Since slavery was abolished in the early 1860's.

I did read the fine print, I knew about the five years of inactive reserve that I would be sitting on after my three years of active duty. What I didn't count on when I signed the papers was to egotistical maniacs bent on killing young men for the hell of it. F it, they should get the two together in a ring and let 'em at each other. Seriously, then you will see that someone said war would cause a depression, to which I said wars dont CAUSE depressions, they elleviate them, much in the same way slavery allowed the US to become a rich nation.
