GEDs arent always bad. To get into college, you also need to have SAT or ACT scores. Extraordinary act/sat scores can make up for lack of a normal diploma.

He's glad he didn't accept. People with Stanford diplomas, $110,000 in debt, can't even find jobs now. hake:

a GED will get you into a job at 7-11 or McDonalds. Hey, at least at 7-11 you get free slurpees. just watch out for the brainfreeze and dont use the greasetray as your ashtray!

Let's not forget the opprotunity to getting shot for minimum wage.

I'm not really interested in going to college, maybe a local vocational school for computer stuff. I took the practice GED and it didn't seem too hard. I'd say my weakest area is mathematics.

in other words you're ranked 300 of your class which has 310 students?

College is not for everyone. With so many specialized fields(especially in high tech), schools like ITT and DeVry are more appealing to some. Good that you realized it was not for you rather than come to that conclusion after you have spent thousands of dollars.

I'm almost done at the UofA, thank God.

almost 99% of computer stuff requires math so ur pretty much screwed if you want a job in high tech

[quote="Jedi Marksman":604ba]A GED should not have any negative effects for you in the long run. You can still get into college with it, most employers will accept it and the military will as well.[/quote:604ba]

The Airfroce will not accept GED's and if i recall the Navy will not either. When i enlisted the Army was considering making a diploma required. I dont think it will.

cameltoe 03-12-2003 10:38 PM

heh that would eliminate alot of the new recruits
