Most of the time I get sniped by a guy that I can't see due to this culling problem, yet he can see me. Irritating.

Oh, and incase you were all wondering. Yes, you can still join 2.11 servers alongside 2.15 servers. Good news. biggrin:

Oooh, sweet!

I was wondering that myself...was gonna wait 'till aan upgraded before I upgraded my copy. Guess I don't have to!

Yeah it is sweet. Used the in-game browser and all the 2.11 servers showed up fine. Smart decision to make the patch compatible with the previous one.

Since the two versions are compatible, doesn't that mean that all cheats available on the net can still be used?

I mean hey, a butt-slide is annoying, but I like 10 sliders over 1 cheater.

And I noticed when playing Spearhead, I couldn't shoot through some of the fencing...although they look the same as in MoHAA. In MoHAA you could shoot through the holes. Is that fixed? I found it to be quite annoying (I know this has probably nothing to do with the culling system, but I remembered when I saw MPowell's post about fences/culling).

Off-topic: Ah well, It'll still suck I guess. As some previous posters said, they weapons aren't well balanced; since when is a (s)mg a better sniper rifle than a sniper rifle is? The maps aren't balanced either. They favour camping a lot more than MoHAA. I mean, Unterseite? Bazaar? Come on.

Aaargh. Hope the next expansion is MoHAA-like.

I believe that the problems with masked textures such as fencing, is how they setup the the alpha channels and/or surfaceparms of the files. Probably wasn't high on their "todo" list. Eitherway, we are lucky to get a patch for SH. Not saying we should accept anything over nothing, but with the list of fixes, we can now enjoy SH alittle more. biggrin:

Amen.

Let's hope they didn't break more than they fixed...heh.

For once, I don't think they did. biggrin:

I opened the majority of the files that came with 2.15, and they did correct alot of things that were wrong with 2.11. Too bad they couldn't do the same for AlliedAssault. Lost cause I guess.

Tiwaz 03-13-2003 01:47 PM

But what about cheating? Is it still possible?

It will be fixed when the next expansion pack comes out.

What was that? Oh, right.

Rott3n 03-13-2003 03:40 PM

Looks like they fixed sv_pure too i hope. I run mods but i'm willing to give them up for a cleaner game.

Bazooka_Joe 03-13-2003 06:05 PM

Yeah they fixed the MG-42, holes in maps, the butt-slide, and SV_PURE. Hopefully the working SV_PURE will help in killing some cheats.
