Sorry, i couldnt resist. I dont think i agree with what jibber said here. I dont think it has anything to do with being molested. If the person was molested its more likely theyd become a molester ... My ex worked at a beauty salon, so i was exposed (unwillingly) to tons of homos, both male and female. Several of them had had relationships with women. From being around them and listening to shit they had to say i came to the conclusion that most of em were gay just to fit into the whole gay social thing (click, group, whatever you wanna call it). Sounds kind of strange, but honestly to god thats what i think. I cant say this for all homos, but i really believe some "turn" gay for this reason. Maybe they dont feel welcomed by the other sex and find that they are welcomed by members of their own? I also believe what innoxx said about being raised by single mother, no other male figures around. Also, having a mother that wanted a girl instead of a boy ? btw. i am not homophobic. i just dont like fags. Being critisized by a man acting like a women has to be the most humiliating thing for another man possible. |
I think it's from stuff that happened to them as a kid, or they just want attention

its the invorment and also a hormone in balance that causes it around puberty
|
I beleive its due to most of the time hormone imbalances during puberty as Hungy fatman has said.
|
I believe it is due to too much video game playing...
All that joystick 'manipulation' can have severe repercussions on your sexual orientation! biggrin: |
The answer to the original question is : Nobody knows for sure.
There are two sides to the debate and both sides have been represented here. On one hand you have the case for biological factors, on the other hand the case for sociological/environmental factors. The Nature vs. Nurture debate is not a new one. Its reach is widespread throughout the world of psychology. Scholars have debated on these grounds in discussing such phenomena as personality disorders, depression, obesity, and a million other topics. Personally, I think it has more to do with the environment and the experiences the person had in early childhood development. Sure, I'm open to the idea that there may be physical factors, but without conclusive proof, I'd be more inclined to pick Nurture over Nature. Zone |

My guess is the person sees a quality in the same sex that they like so much, they have physical emotion for it, and can't get that quality out of the opposite sex.

Well... I guess gay men like to make other gay men bleed from their anus. |

I think so too. Like camp people, they talk quite feminenly(sp) and walk like a lady and have those little hand actions, but theyre not actually gay. Some camp celebrities have a feminine way of acting, but are actually happily married (to a woman) and have kids etc. Its just their characteristics are a little feminine. People in prison, not all are gay, and while the "big bubba" stories and soap on the rope arnt as common today as they used to be, it still happens in prison, but theyre not all gay who do it. no women for years on end is bound to get a bit frustrating. |
