Which can be cool. I like some newer bands, too. I think Chevelle have potential. Staind's first record was awesome, but the last one was nothing special. Same goes for 3 Doors Down and Papa Roach...great first records, but insignificant sophmore efforts.

Check out a band called Down. If you don't like Down, you don't like heavy music.

This is the only CD im looking forward to, May 20th. 14 Shades of Grey. All this new age "emo", punk, wanna be rock shit blows ass. Even Disturbed's new CD sucked ass, that was a major let down after loving there first CD. Last CD i bought was AudioSlave, mostly cause i loved Sound Garden. Everything else now days is just one hit wonder bands that will be gone in a year or less with there one CD, and one single hit song that gets over played on the radio.

I'm not big on all those "The xxx" retro bands, although I do like The Strokes. I don't like The White Stripes. Linkin Park sucks, as do most of the other bands popping up lately.

My favorite bands that fit into this category (in no particular order) are Incubus, 311 (new album coming up), Tool, Weezer, A Perfect Circle, Deftones, and Coldplay. Besides those, there are a couple others obviously, but I listen to a lot of jazz stuff these days because so much current mainstream music sucks. Soulive and The Flecktones are fuckin' awesome.

My god I can't believe none of you have heard of Nothingface. They are the biggest underground metal band of all time. Though their new CD kinda sucks... too weak. 'Violence' is still their best.

I agree Nothingface sucks balls. I dont really listen to much straight up metal, I mainly listen to hardcore. Check out Evergreen Terrace,It Dies Today, Sinai Beach and Curl Up and Die if you like hardcore. They are the main bands I've been listening to lately and are really good.
