Yeah a guy jumped from a balloon around the outter edge of our atmosphere. He free-fell for something like 12 minutes if memory serves.

[quote="Old Reliable":aeb90]there must be some type of law against this, as government employees are allowed into space. a law must be enacted so people don't try such crazy ideas and get themselves killed[/quote:aeb90]
he'll probably forget to file a flight plan and get shot down by some F-15s or the new NMD system (which will probably actually work by the time his rocket's done) |

...... hake: ....ugh

he'll blow up just like the space shuttle
|
lol what a dumbass. hopefully he burns up and dies, then he'll serve as a warning to other dumbasses who want to build their own rocket and shoot themself into space.
|
I hope he does it. Would add something interesting to his otherwise boring life.

I'm a believer: he'll make it to 50 miles up and come down safely... unless
he doesn't plan everything meticulously, in which case he risks certain death. Still, I believe... As Mulder's poster says: I WANT TO BELIEVE. happy: |
"The ultimate goal is to go straight up 50 miles. There are no plans for orbit, just to fulfill the childhood dream of a private citizen.
Orbit requires going at least 170 miles up and going 17,000 MPH around the earth.." ...oh for crying out loud hake: ....of course he'll do it...if his absolute mastery of zero-grav, hover-vehicles and ...erm, Hydro Subs is any indication...this latest venture will be a "piece of piss" in any mans language. |
Somehow, I can't see this happening flawlessly.
