What a mess. I've heard a couple of theories so far: 1. he fell sleep because of his heart medication and 2. drugs/alcohol (of course). He was obviously distraught over it since he went home immediately after and tried to commit suicide... which seems a bit drastic if, in fact, it was an accident.[/quote:3eb2b] If you're the sole cause of an accident of this magnitude, of course you're going to feel like that |
New York is having a really bad run at the moment :P
I mean, first there's September 11, then that Plane's engine falling off and crashing, and the refinery that went up, now this... How's morale over there? It must be taking a hammering, surely?[/quote:03193] yea man, and now, when the yankees get their asses kicked by the marlins, all morale will go straight out the window at mach 4. |

OK, so the boat was 22 years old, and it WAS a 3 deck boat, not 2. It's max capacity is 6,000 people, and its 300 feet long.
The pilot (why do they call him a pilot, shouldn't he be a captain?) had low blood pressure, and did not take his meds, and passed out at the controls. This casued him to ram the concrete service pier thats about 100 feet from where he was sopposed to dock. He hit the peir, and it ripped through the entire side of the boat for 250 feet. Concrete, stee beams, and glass came at people killing some, wounding others. One man saw a woman decapitated, and her head. Another saw a man lose his entire lower jaw. Another woman had both of her legs ripped off, and another man had a 800lb metal beam fall on him. Crazy stuff man. Anyways, they then redirected the boat, and moved it to the correct dock, and started to clean up. |
Man, that is truly horrific. How do you shake that sort of images from your head if you were there and lived? Traumatic isn't even close.
On the lighter side, I passed by Ground Zero (as I do every morning), and saw they put a large peice of the structure up. When I first saw it, it almost looked like the front of a stage for a concert or something. It's on the corner of Vesey and Church street. I'll see if I can find a pic.[/quote:74f91]

What I meant was he saw her body laying on the ground, and her head a few feet away from it.
