I dont know which is funnier, the cubs blowing a 3 game lead, or blaming it on a foul ball.

If your not from the US, I can understand why you
wouldn't want to hear it, but to call it a "dumb song".. annoy:
It's just being patriotic.

Old likes to think of himself as refined and cosmopolitan and anything remotely patriotic is just redneck to him. He's worse than the french.

hmm its america's pasttime ? a-hole. contrary to most of you who think football is america's #1 sport, it isnt . baseball has been around a long time and this country loved it up until the 90s when the gay strike ruined it for alot of ppl.

old = stupid:

Heh, thats exactly what ruined me on it. It doesnt have a lot of action and its slow and drawn out, but I always liked because I grew up playing and the americas game thing. It was tradition. Then the players put themselves before the fans and cancelled the world series over money. I was bitter. Then I realized it was tradition that made me like the game, not the entertainment (or lack there of). Once I realized that, I was free and I havent watched a game since. I hope the whole stinking league folds now and barry bonds has to go sell used cars. I get an unhealthy amount of amusement out of the ongoing downward spiral of baseball popularity.

And how exciting is a sport where you can pick the champs by looking at the payroll at the beginning of the season. Whoever can spend more is going to win. Look at the marlins' title. They spent so much on players that they lost money winning the world series. Then cleaned house the next year. Yankees buy their way to the series every year. Big fun. But the big dogs run the sport and make sure the deck stays stacked in their favor.

But I digress...

Who cares what they sing? Take me out to the ball game was stupid, You were already there....duh!!!

First of all baseball originated in the US. America's past time.
All major sporting events usually have a a patriotic song or the national
anthym to start and/or at halftime. Where the hell have you been? Lastly
if you don't want to hear it, stick with a sport like cricket. No one gives a shit
about it and you want be bothered with those pesky patriotic tunes. ( or you
could take your fingers off your tampon string and stick them in your ears
and hum your favorite tune while it's playing) stupid:

it breeds blind nationalism/patriotism. oh well, take me out to the ballgame is a tradition
