It was a good movie, overhyped, but stil good. I remember being dissapointed that there weren't more dogfights between the jets and alien fighters.

Did you just combine Bill Paxton and Bill Pullman?

And I'm sure some jets were in bunkers, not all airfields were destroyed, and some were on aircraft carriers in the ocean.

I'm still waiting for a really good trilogy of movies that deals with earth coming under attack from an outside force. It would bee cool to see an epic such as LoTR, one movie dealing in the initial battle, one showing the aftermath and how the human race survives, and then the final movie showing the combined effort of the remaining forces fighting back and defeating those damn aliens![/quote:c0451]

How about a movie with humans invading a alienj world. where we are the bad guys ?

[quote="TGB!":a4b85]Movie looks like environmental bullshit. There is such a thing as global warming, but when the total degree change is 1 in the last century - itll be awhile before you and I - hell your childrens children have to start worrying. [/quote:a4b85]

What aboutthe huge increase in UV rays getting threw and the huge increase in Skin Cancer as of recent ? Their are a lot of effects coming about becasue of us.

Maybe the huge increase in people and the huge increase in tanning beds might have something to do with this.

Vance 05-25-2004 02:43 PM

MAybe we should stop having huge increases of things and we'll be fine.

I dont think the movie is really anything about environmental concern. Just a "what if" scenario.

I like to see the world as we know it obliterated. Always cool no matter what the concept. They can have giant pink teddy bears invade, as long as cities get destroyed biggrin:

of course its bullshit, it is Hollywood.
The real effects of global warming will be weather changes over many years and they may make good farmlands worthless and make worthless lands fertile (due to shifting rain patterns).
The thing that kills humans will ultimately be wars (as more powerful nations try to capture fertile lands because theirs become useless) and famines caused by the climate change, not the change itself; but if that's what the movie was about no one would watch, except maybe a few odd masochists who enjoy boredom biggrin:
