Ask EA! Level Design Answers - Part I

As the title states Part I of your Ask EA! questions about level design in Pacific Assault has been answered by EA.

Here's an example of a question:
[quote:0d45c]Q: How large will the maps be?

A: Currently our maps can be 16 times the size of maps from Allied Assault or larger.[/quote:0d45c]

Awesome. Check out the rest of your questions here![/url:0d45c]

Ask EA! Level Design Answers - Part II

The second part of you Ask EA! Level Design questions has been answered. An example:
[quote:1d9f7]Q: Will you be able to hide behind some brush, trees and high grass, letting the Japanese soldiers just walk pass you, and not see you? So you could ambush them?

A: Absolutely. While stealth is not integral to our game, we want the AI to behave as realistically as possible. If you hide in dense undergrowth, there's a chance that searching enemies will not be able to find you. [/quote:1d9f7]

Hopefully they won't delay it again, but also I'm hoping they'll get it finished in time, I'd rather have them delay it then release an unfinished game (aka MOH:RS).

General Death 06-10-2004 05:34 AM

From what we are learning on the MOHTeam things are on schedule. Dont know how soon we will be able to release a list of new features that are now solid in game as of yesterday but I have to say this list is very impressive.

As September draws nearer, more info will be available.

Pacific Assault Insider #2

The Official MOH:PA EA Website[/url:535d1] has been updated with the 2nd Pacific Assault Insider! This one is entitled, "Multiplayer Overview". Here is a small excerpt:
[quote:535d1]Ultimately, we also wanted to create a mode that offered a greater sense of progression than other multiplayer modes and felt more like the single-player experience, in terms of providing clear goals to the player. Initially, TOW was intended to be like this, but it turns out that the fundamental conceptual design often restricted us to formulaic scenarios (there were always symmetrical protect/destroy spawner objectives for each team, along with a couple of flippable objectives in the middle, usually with one critical switch that ended the match). [/quote:535d1]

To tell the truth, the article is informative as you can get about the new MP game mode, Invader. Read it all here![/url:535d1] quickshot:
