Yes, I do notice that.
But do you understand why?
Canadian Politics has no bearing whatsoever on the US. I bet less than 1% of American know there is a Canadian Federal Election going on. Canada doesn't make the worlds decisions, or infulence anything for that matter. The US does. I bet 75%+ of Canadians know of an upcoming US Election. We get news coverage, and whoever gets voted in in the states DOES effect our lives. Whether that be the decision to send troops to other countries like Iraq or Economic policies like Aids in Africa and the Koyoto protocall. Canada won't be invading any countries anytime soon, whether we want to or not, and canada won't have a major impact on world events. The US does. That is why so many Canadians and people from other countries have an opinion on the subject. George Bush effects my life. John Kerry, if elected, would effect my life. Paul Martin, Stephen Harper will not effect your life.

As for the elections, I'm disappointed. When an election was called a couple months back, I had no doubts the Liberals would win, however I thought that it might be a minority. As we went a long, it looked more and more like a Conservative government was possible. Polls indicated Liberals and Conservatives in a dead heat. What we have is 37% liberal, 30% Conservative. I wish it would have been closer. Ontario was a bust. 75 seats for the Liberals, and 22 for the Conservatives. I thought they were doing much better there. Anywho, Paul Martin better shape up. If he doesn't, you'll hear me complain. I have a right to complain. I voted. If you didn't vote, you can't complain. Hopefully this is a wake up call for him.
Minority government is going to be fucked up. At least it is a minority. If the liberals have to team up with the NDP, I'm gonna be pissed. We're leaning way to far left.
