only buy a fancy case if it will somehow boost your performance. If not, stick with a beigh box or just a black one. I've got a dell and I don't show it off to my friends as a pimped out rig with a living hamster inside the case.

antec>all
my antec case is the perfect size and came with a great PSU, nothing fancy on it...just a dark gray case with 3 fans and a great PSU |
I've got one of these[/url:35604], I'd recommend it to anyone.[/quote:35604]
Thats what i have. There's a boatload of room inside. |

I was at a computer store today and checked out the antec PLUS1080AMG. Those things are fucking HUGE! I didn't realize it was a full tower. The mid towers next to it looked so tiny. It definately was the nicest tower there, but I don't know if I need all that room. They had the solution mid tower there as well, but I would like a case with a window. Anyway, I think i'm going to try to find myself an antec case and psu. I think i'm gonna want to OC this bad boy, and I don't want the psu crapping out or airflow to be shitty.
One question I ahve is about fans. A mobo probably only supports 3 fans, right? CPU, 1 case, and 1 power, as it's labled. If I wanted more, I would have to run them directly off the power supply. Is that correct? |

Yes, just hook them up to the 4 pin molex and chain all of your fans together. If you have more fans that use the 3 pin motherboard connections you can by adapters to hook them up to the 4 pin PSU connector.
There are 3 pin adapters that allow you to hook up 2 or more fans to same mobo spot, but it's not recommended because it would draw too much power through the motherboard. |

Well I just bought a fan for intake on my pos here, and it's got 3 pins and I hoked it up through the mobo. Should it be going through the psu instead?
 |

No, a single fan on each motherboard connector is fine. Just don't chain more than one fan on each mobo connector.

Gotcha, thanks.
Edit: Do you know of any programs that run in windows that can tell you CPU and mobo temp, like the BIOS screen does? |

damn

Ninty I hope you get everything you need... lol...
Is this your first custom computer? My computer I have now is, I love it so much, but anyways ,what games are you trying going to play? |

No, I've had custom computers built for me before, i've just never built one myself. I know what I need, it's just really tough deciding on what I want.
Games? Everything. If i'm going to spend all of this money I may as well get as much out of it as I can. |
