2. Beleive it or not, he is our only hope of settling this whole mess in the middle east. Like him or lump him, when it comes to the bargaining table, which we can only hope for soon.... His stature among his people wilol be the only thing that stops them from commiting more suicide bombings. Which in turn, keeps Isreali helicopters from blow buildings up.

Anywho, i think the Palestinian people would be better off without him however, that all depends on who succeeds him.

Arafat, Sharon and all the other cold war hardliners need to gtfo. Only way for a good peace to form is with new leadership w/o grudges. Hard thing to find though, considering most families in both areas have had someone killed by the other side. The cold war is over, dudes, its time to move on.

so your claiming arafat has no power or influnce or not enough ? Can you back up your claims ? please give me a break. Arafat has enough support to play a major role in getting some peace to this place. You wanting him to die will only make things worse. Your jumping to rash ideas.

this has no bearing (nobel) on the present...his party is fractured and i think there will be a power grab. he will be yesterdays news when he goes....he still maintains a power base but has seen is shrink and consolidate due to his poor management and decision making (again ill use his family memeber named to a top security posisiton, who was an extortionist/thug etc to illiterate my point)...i dont think he holds the same approval rating he did and accroding to news outlets (which could be apart of liberal jewish control oOo:)his power is waning....
