X850 has one too. As will all of ATI and Nvidia's new highend cards.

At least the 6800 Ultra looks nice. That X850 looks retarded.

Nice photoshopped pic, please note the fucked up pci express connector.

And its from the inq ffs, hardly reliable.

Every site is saying that is has a 2 slot cooling solution.

I don't care if that is a photochop. ATI says it has a 2 slot cooler.

geRV 11-26-2004 02:12 PM

Yet to see anything on rage 3d coming from ati saying its 2 slot. The stupid thing about the last coolers from ati and nvidia was dual or single slot, neither exhausted air out the back fo the case, plus the nvidia cooler was a lot louder than the ati cooler, not on dustbuster geforce fx levels though.

If ati's is dual slot, quiet and exhausts air out the back of the case ive no problem with it.

Only one reaction I have to this thread

I have a 6800GT with the reference single slot cooler which was supposed to be the loudest and I can't hear it over my Panaflo 80mm L1A (20dbA).

More ATI fanboy exagerations I suppose. rolleyes:

Cooler for the ultra is louder, it runs hotter so the fan obviously has to spin faster which gives it a dull whine. There was a site a while ago that posted comparrison vids to show how loud each card was. The ultra gets gradually louder when you start playing games, but in normal windows mode its pretty quiet.

Akuma 11-26-2004 02:21 PM

The GT runs just as hot as the Ultra but only has a single slot cooler. So why would it's fan spin slower? eek:

Cold ask the same question as to why if the gt runs as hot it only needs a single slot cooler compared to the ultra double slot.

Probably the same reason the X850 has a double slot cooler but is only clock 20mhz faster than the X800XTPE w/ single slot.
