I love my settings and they work for me http://www.alliedassault.com/ubb/smile.gif

up arrow = forward
down arrow = backwards
left arrow = left starfe
right arrow = right starfe
[ = lean left
] = lean right
enter = use
0 numpad = jump
right shift = crouch
numbers are for weapons
right mouse = alt. fire
and r for reload

I use something a little more unconventional for FPS. It allows for maximum relaxation of the left hand. I just set my hand on the keyboard; naturally, my ring-finger rests on "A" and my index-finger on "C".
SHIFT - forward
A - Strafe left
S - Strafe right
C - Jump
SPACE - Crouch
Q - lean left
W - lean right
D - move back
R - reload
V - use

To each his own I guess. My advice is to make sure your most commonly used keys are "short throughs", this will reduce fatigue.

I really need to go outside once in a while http://www.alliedassault.com/ubb/wink.gif

Oh yeah, get a USB mouse and boost the speed up so you don't pick it up much. And practice doing 180s---you never know who is on your "6".

Actually, I use the WASD too. All default config (easy to remember).

But I was wondering. Anyone heard of the Nostromo N50 Speedpad. It is suppose to be made for FPS, I've tried it out in store and it feels good. Hand rest and has a keyboard setup (8 buttons in two rows of four). Three are setup for directional and the others for quicking binding.

Looks nice...anyone have it?

yes

its great

10 keys actually 2 rows of 5 and an 8 way Dpad.

i sacrifice 2 keys for 2 extra "modes" (blue mode and green mode).

normal mode = Blue shift,Q,W,E,R on top and I,A,S,D,Green shift on the bottom row with

I foret all the exact mappings i use but it goes like this

Normal mode = basic movement and basic commands(drop gun move strafe etc..)

Blue shift = WASD for movement with the rest of the buttons bound for communication.

Green shift = nothing right now, probably going to use it for communication. In Counter-Strike i used green shift and the autobuy script and had all my buys bound to green shift.

the best thing about the speed pad is its comfort and flexibility.

I use the wsad keys and
q for jump
e for crouch
space for use
z,x for lean left and right

but everyone uses different keys, so use what you like best.
