99, I would like to hope that would be true however I disagree for 1 reason.
That being their leader is one crazy man. I think that if he gets beat enough that he will relize he has lost and launch one off knowing he is going to die anyways. |
Beat how?
There's a differnece between being a psychopath, and being insane. I believe Kim Jong Ill is a psychopath, but I don't think he's insane. I don't really think any of the world Tyrants are insane, and I doubt any of them would do something as irrational as launch nuclear weapons. |

Saddam's main reason for not coming 100 % clean about his WMD's ? Iran. Pretend to have teeth, and keep your enemy's at bay.

there was something on cnn in late 2004 that went into the country (which is very rare, korea is EXTREMELY secretive), and it showed schools teaching 5 and 6 year olds that america are the nazis and that we will invade soon and that they will have to give thier lives to protect thier country. it was insane hearing what these little children had to say, the whole country is being brainwashed what makes all this so scary is that north korea has every intention of using those nukes should they feel threatened, thats the entire reason they have them........this is a very sensitive matter that will require diplomacy which is not currently being practiced in america i just dont know what north korea wants from us?? our money? our prosperity? or just our deaths? |
I am siding with headup on this one. Sure nukes are a method blackmail etc, but I dont think countries would spend trillions of dollars developing, and testing nuclear weapons if they never planned to use them. Thtas like buying a house that you never plan to live in. Countries develop nukes for several reasons.
1) They think it will make them look more powerfu/be feared/respected. 2) They can use it as a way to blackmail allies and enemies alike. 3) If need be, they can launch one against a hostile target, for whatever reason...nukes were used before, it is inevietable that they will be used again, sooner or later. I believe allowing N. Korea to posess nukes is like letting civilians buy tanks. Nothing good will come from it. Plus there is the fact that as headup mentioned already, they are brainwashed, like for example kids in some extremist arabic countries. They are taught that jews are the scum of the earth and that America is the greatest enemy, from the minute they are able to comprehend speach. |
i do believe NK is capable of launching a nuke that CAN reach american soil and if shit hits the fan the closest spot to NK is alaska, and we have a few military bases up here and the " missle defense system" that thing is a joke B.T.W. So please dont be foolish enough to think that NK cant hit american soil , cause im sure they can rolleyes:
|
Why are you sure they can?
I highly doubt North Korea could at this moment launch an ICBM holding a nuclear warhead. I doubt India, Pakistan, Israel or any other country besides the US and Russia can hit long distance from bases in their own country. I suppose some countries could put them on a sub and drive up to your doorstep. http://www.alertnet.org/thenews/newsdesk/L10181068.htm [quote:70c4d]North Korea has test fired short- and medium-range ballistic missiles, but its missile programme has been marred by accidents and the accuracy of the weapons has been questioned.[/quote:70c4d] Iran says they can hit stuff 2000kms away: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/3716490.stm BTW, don't assume things. rolleyes: |

Dong.shtml Now i dont know the precise distance from NK to any part of alaska , so if its less than 3,730 miles than i will be more than happy to retract my proir post about them being able to hit alaska . just comparing facts with ya 99 |
