Can't be because works in safe mode.

Micro Center has a fan that sits next to your video card and exits the air out the back. At $6.99 it's cheaper then these other solutions.

Stuff like this should be posted on the tech board just as an FYI, youll get better responses and less flaming. It's a win-win situation if you ask me

Seriously if the fan still works go in and smell the card if it smells burn it probably is. Also what program icon was it, this might help debug the situation

The fan still working, sometimes the PC restarts without me doing anything.I opened the case, now seems to be working fine, every now and then I get the same green pattern all over the screen, freezers a little then starts working again.

What progam icon are you talking about ?

Thanks

Did you keep any old cards. I have a MX-400 card I can swap out to check the card.

Was it a desktop icon or an icon somewheres else like on the internet? Also does it smell burnt? And if you can open the case and it works, try cleaning it, use a vacuum and or an air compressor and blow out the case and fans. Try taking out the card and looking at the conductors as well, they could get gunk on them. Other than that its all i can think of without looking at it. But definately tell me specificly what icon you clicked on. And try a video cache flush and a cookie and temp internet file flush

If all else fails, got to the BIOS, only if you know what you are doing, and disable the current card and enable the onboard card

This is what I get

That could very well be a virus. nothing that looks too harmful, just annoying. Go to Add/Remove Programs and check if there is anything there that shouldnt be. However the last time i saw anything close to that was because the motherboard shat the bed. Which if this is becomeing consistant is quite possible. If you can find a computer that you can use and try it with your harddrive. If it works its not a virus, if it doesnt it is. and the only way to check its its the vid card or MB is to put the vid card in another computer. Depends on how much hassle you want to go through from here. If you dont want to deal with it, just get a new motherboard that will fit the case and the vid card. cuz from the sound of it. nothing is wrong with the vid card so in a nut shell

1) Check onboard vid card and turn off the other vid card
2) Check for the malicious virus but putting harddrive in another computer
3) If not (1) Check the vid card by putting the card in another compatible computer WITH your harddrive
4) All else fails, get new hardware, a new MB if the vid card is good, a new vid card if the mb is good
