simple math 2,300 - 500 = 1,800
now you can build one for 1,100
1,800 - 1,100 = 700. Wow. if you build your own than it is still $700 cheaper than buying one from dell with $500 off. IMO dont buy a dell for that much. Build one with all those specs for a lot less.

Prob with dell is the use their own specific parts like ram etc so if you look to upgrade in the future your fucked.

Edit: Nevermind, I just bought an inspiron XPS with nearly those specs for just about that price, build a custom one for a few thousand cheaper.
