I think the medic should have a gun because in *sniper town* after i destoryed the tank 5 guys come out of the house and kills the medic. and i omaha the medic at the shingle doesnt have a gun. and when he tries to run up to the bunker he gets wasted. IMO i think they should have at least a side arm.

During WWII, Germany breached the contract of the Geneva Conventions by using Mustard Gas on our allies. Since then, I don't believe any nerve gases are allowed to be used in war, legally speaking.

BTW, yah what they said: Medics do not carry weapons in war. Their main purpose is to help the wounded. That's why it's also against the Geneva Convention laws of war to shoot at a military truck with a "red cross" on the side.

That is true in the case of war, but with ww2 Germany wasn't just in war they were undergoing global domination. It's like the game of risk, you wanna take over the map and if you end up feeling sorry for anyone come the next turn, you may not be winning anymore.

in war medics are NON COMBATANTS.
they are there to treat the wounded but they have the rights as anyone does to defend themselves.
they do in rare cases carry weapons, but the shit really has to hit the fan for that.

Capt Caveman, in a real war, a wounded soldier is worth twice as much as a dead one. Wounded soldiers have to be cared for, and their screams of pain are demoralizing to their fellow unit members. It's basic Clauswitzian theory, dead soldiers return resources to the battlegroup (ammunition, guns, supplies, etc..), wounded soldiers use up resources. War is merely a battle of attrition, the side that can provide the most resources (of all kinds), wins. Allied losses early in the war were much higher than Axis losses, but the Allies could afford to pour more resources into the war than the Axis could. They had the manpower and manufacturing might to run Germany (and Japan) out of men, fuel, weapons and supplies therefore, the Allies won.

in real war medics carry guns like i said before they carry 9mm i know this on a first hand basis also medics in the field are not protected only the fla's(field ambulances) are protected under geneva not the soldiers and the only time those vehicals are protected is if they bear a large red cross but noone really cares bout that in war (just us dumb americans) so this should stop the issue medics do carry weapons at all times

The only reason someone would not kill a medic is so he can keep making wounded soldiers (instead of dead ones) who use resources.
