Your looking at it too simply. They are using this to simply scare people, its terrorism. What we did in Japan was tactical bombing, yes, you are correct we killed lots of innocent random people, but its not the same thing.

Did ya read my post there slick rolleyes:
They are terrorists, we were in a conventional war and with the technology at the time, that was the best way to achieve the military goal. The intent of each situation is way different...

And I'm one of the most liberal people you will meet fyi. I by no means support our foriegn policy and do not consider us the good guys... rolleyes: try reading between the lines before making smart ass comments..

The intent was to force a government to do something that the Allies wanted, and in doing so they killed thousands of innocent people.

These so-called "terrorists" are doing the exact same thing; killing innocent people to force a government to do something they want.

i dont think bombing england into leaving iraq is a wise move on the "terrorists" ....

You're using logic which can be twisted in an infinite amount of ways to attempt to prove your point... There is alot more to each case than that, when it comes down to it, innocent poeple are being killed, thats about the only thing they share. And the terrorists arent stupid, they arent doing this to have our governments say "oh jeez, lets pull out of Iraq and Afghanistan and leave you guys alone", if you think thats the case then you dont understand the middle east. They see the west as evil and want to destroy it or corrupt it as much as possible until they can destroy it. This terrorism is NOT a means for negotiation as our bombing of Japan was. Seems you have missed the whole point here, I might suggest some readings for you if you want to try to undrstand the real issue.

THe great game - Peter hopkirk (goes in depth on the history of europe's involvement in the middle east formt he very biginning)

The Central Asian States- Gregory Gleason (overview of the modern "-stans" if you will)

Afghanistans endless war - Larry P Goodson (goes in depth about how afghanistan ticks, how the Taliban came about and effects on the population, how they feel about the west, etc..)

Taliban - ahmed Rashid (very in depth study of every part of the Taliban, this is what I would suggest reading the most, gives you a great picture of their intent with the terrorism and what they want to accomplish.

the allies did it to end the war, b/c thousands more allied troops would of died, if we had to go into japan. And if the terrorists are bombing london in order for the us to leave iraq why not just wait, well pull out soon enough
