I have a amd 64 and this is my current temp according to my 1337 h4x0r front lcd display.

And to make this topic more confusing is the fact that a lot of mother boards report inaccurate temps.

What the hell, I never can figure out the point of overclocking...

...risking overheating your 5 jillion dollar hardware just so you can boost your framerate, which is basically a bunch of numbers that show no difference to the graphics, though you keep trying to convince yourself that you are seeing something new, or in a better way.

I wouldnt do it either, I got curious and tried the overclock a year ago, pressed "Apply" and my screen went black.

Yep...my reading comes from a little thermal wire I put on the cpu underneath the Heatsink. MIne should be fairly accurate.

great now you know how hot your heatsink is!
now for the CPU

Again you fail duffy. FPS do matter. Overclocking doesnt make the graphics "look pretty" It can increase the number of frames that our seen per second, causing the game to run alot smoother. Buck is running a slideshow right now and is trying to make it run smooth not look pretty.

Now go play with your 3 new pubes.
