It was "revenge" for Pearl Harbour in the sense that it was revenge for getting America involved in a huge war. Pearl Harbour was the initial attack that brought them into the war. So in theory Japan and it's attack on Pearl Harbour was to blame for all Americans who died in a war they potentially would have avoided.

Eventually...I believe...they would be drawn in. Germany and Japan were obvioslly stronger than the allies until their involvement (and moreso Germany idiotically attacking the soviet union)

Revenge is revenge...but it is kinda like lets say some guy kills your mother...and your idea of revenge is to kill their entire family, when everybody in the family has nothing to do with it except for the original murderer.

Whatever.

That's what Truman meant, you were wrong - and that's what I was pointing out. Go dig him up and debate it with him, because his speeches don't necessarily speak for every single American word for word.[/quote:1d1bc]

Truman is a man who makes decisions quickly, and never ever says what he did was even remotly wrong. He's just a typical stubborn guy...though sometimes that is the type of person to get the job done.[/quote:1d1bc]

You don't know what you're talking about, nor do you even realise how irrelevant it is....So i'm just going to ignore you now.

What I said was truth...Truman is quick to make decisions while roosevelt took a shit load longer. And Truman was probably a little pissed he was kept in the dark when he was vice president...every president got to make a name for themselves right? It is much more important to them than the country they rule anyways.
