Glock. But Id suggest the G17 instead, unless youve got really small hands.[/quote:ea4ff]
nah i got big hands, never held any glock in my hands so i didnt know how big one was. the 19 just looks nice, the 17 looks weird because the angle of the handle. but i just havent held one. so oOo:[/quote:ea4ff]

Trip, i purchased the Sig 228 back in '91. I wanted a smaller yet bigger caliber gun for concealed carry so i purchased the P-239 .40 in '98. I'm very fond of Sigs, they're made well and shoot beautifully.

The factory grips on the Ruger GP-100 are a much nicer looking grip but i had to change it because i would bleed from shooting .357 rounds through it. If you look at a pic of a factory grip on the GP-100, you'll notice it doesn't completely cover the backstrap. Shoot a box of .357 and it'll take the skin off of the top knuckle of your thumb near the web of your hand.

As far as the guy who wants the Sig 226, it's a nice gun but rather large for my tastes. The 228 is the same but more compact. No matter what, definately shoot a gun before you buy one and also shoot other brands (glock, smith, ruger...etc). Had a guy at the range shooting his new Beretta and asked to shoot my Sig since he never did. I felt bad for him as he commented on how much better it felt than his new Berreta.

Oh and Zone, that was a funny chop of Pyro.

Pyro, i can tell you don't know much about firearms.....your finger is on the trigger. A big no no.

The thing that makes me choose the Glock over the Sig... Or heck, most 9mm's on the market, is the fact that its lot more resistant. For example, the swedish military 9mm ammo, called 39 Bravo, packs a lot more punch than the regular 9mm in the civil market.

Why, you might ask? Well, the army wanted the 9mm to still be able to shoot through the engine blocks on cars, with a pistol. Hence, they kept the SMG ammo that was used for the CG m/45. And since the police gun of that time (Sig P228, which they still use), couldnt take more than about 6000 rounds of the army 9mm (after that, the slide began to crack), they started looking for a gun that would withstand the harder bullet and bigger pack of gunpowder, and ended up with Glock 17. The pilots of the airforce later on adopted Glock 19, since it had a smaller frame, but still packed just as much of a punch as the 17.

And thats why you should go for the Glock, and not the Sig; It wont brake that easily.

And why the fuck did I write all that...?

Arkan, you're tempting me with that 228! It might end up ... oh hell, it's on my list now!

Currently own:

Glock 17
HK USP .45
Walther P22

To get:

Beretta 92FS
Sig P228
AR15

iI have shot several thousand rounds through my gp-100 and have not have that problem. You must have abnormal sized hands or an unorthidox shooting grip. Whatever works for you though. The gp-100 is a fun gun to shoot, especially at range of around 100 yards.
