Actually Ive gotten to love console FPS. The controls are quite easy once you get used to them, and you become a better PC shooter.

Gerv is right, and I reason I have never owned a console FPS. The AI and the controls are just too horrid for me. If you want to destroy everything in your path go buy Mercenaries. ALso I've heard you really can't destroy that much in the game, it's mainly scripted on what you can destroy with bullets and grenades.

I'll end up renting it. It sucks cause it has no MP or anything. Not even split screen from what I hear.

yea not coop, no multiplayer and no online multiplayer, guess they didnt have enough time to develope it fully and the studio were pushed to release it by EA.


Still great game, looks so good for a PS2 game, and the xbox one looks hot too. Played most of it at work, sells like hot cakes and plays nice, huge levels, destructable most things, the weapons with the silencers on make the best sound a silenced weapon does over all other games- not a bad game at all even if it lacks multiplayer. Not legendary but a great play until you complete it.


you anti-console-fps-nubs are such whiney bastards, goldeneye owns over every pc fps (ahem dont try to pass off that goldeneye source as better as it blows) and with console controls well wah wah wah plzdie:

I think halflife, quake 2, quake 3 counterstrike and halflife 2 would have something to say about that. Goldeneye was a good game but being a console game it was limited to what it was, you'd get far more longevity and fun out of any of the above games mainly because of the user made mods.

fps on earlier systems were fun. i loved fps on the n64. but on every other system the controls suck my anus.

Why is it that so many console gamers still cling to a Nintendo 64 game from the 90's to prove that a console system can get it right?

Even if Goldeneye was better than any PC FPS (and I disagree with that) where have all the great console FPS been since then? Modern consoles fail to deliever in that genre of gaming, and the PC is the only place where you can get an FPS that will deliever a substantial amount of substance.

you can argue against it but perfect dark, halo 2, killzone, far cry instincts, timesplitters future perfect, , halo 1 and black to name a few are not bad at all and do deliver on a "substantial amount of substance."

why so many? maybe because it has a good claim to the throne of best fps, hence alot of people claiming it even if it is an old game. Ive played pc fps alot, console fps alot, but never have i found i game i loved more than goldeneye. Doesnt have to prove that consoles get it right but there are good console fps's out there even if you try to ignore it.

I'll give you Perfect Dark and Halo 1&2, Timesplitters was marginal, and if it weren't for auto-aim it'd be impossible to hit anything (gamecube version).

I happen to have thought Killzone was a god awful game, it didn't bring anything new and it wasn't a horribly exciting game at best. As for Far Cry to say that it's just a port from PC wouldn't be too far from the truth, sure it's got the whole new character and the mutant thing going for it but the basic premise was invented on the PC.

I'm not ignoring the fact that their are good console FPS games, but to put down PC FPS games in favor of one Nintendo 64 game is unreasonable. You mentioned the other games however, and that makes your claim a bit more credible.

Using Goldeneye to defend all consoles, when really all it is was an extreme exception for it's time.

Actually I find console fos controls to be a bit more intuitive once you get used to them. However, I do enjoy both PC and console shooters. Dont play elitist PC nub just because you're too lazy/uncoordinated to figure the controls out rolleyes:

Is there talk of porting it to PC? If so i'll wait for that, if not i will go pick it up for the Xbox. A friend of mine was praising it last night and says its a good game. When i get console shit its not for the MP, and he says the environments and shit are really nice and over all the game was worth it.
