mandarin is hard as shit to learn, but its also simpler in some ways, like they dont have past or future tense, and the word structure is kind of formulaic, but there is only one way to say some sentences, even tho the english translations use the same words (like go to class - shang ke, cannot use the same words as something like go back to your country - hui guo)...

the dvds have been playing in my roommates laptop, but not mine cuz its old as shit and doesnt have a dvd rw drive, but it works on everyone elses...some of the dvds have subtitles but they can be turned off in the options. the only thing that got in the way were these retarded english subtitles at the bottom of munich (which was in english anyway), they were some wierd attempt at translating the english into english again or something. either way, at like 80 cents a piece i dont care if they work when i come home.
