You slandering douche.... WHO SAID I TRUSTED SADDAM HUSSEIN oOo: ? Again you are putting fucking words in my mouth, I do not trust the guy, and neither do I trust the current administration. I just beleive there was no justable cause for war.......

As DOES 95 % of everyone on the planet. except a few nutbags such as yourselves who won't just fucking admit that this war was a terrible mistake which has cost thousands of lives and has destabilized the middle east even more. IS it really that hard to grow some balls and just admit that you were wrong ?

If Saddam DID have these weapons - How come he didn't use them when the U.S was on his doorstep? If he's so untrustworthy and cutthroat, don't you think he would have done something when he knew the jig was up?

He had all that time do something to the U.S between the gulf wars, and he didn't really do anything - I guess that's why people didn't feel threatened enough by him to go to war...
...and if you say "But he's a DICTATOR!" Then just think to yourself how many other oppresive regimes are in power, that the U.S has just ignored. Look at africa.

I could pose you with a similar question: Why do you trust your own government so much?

Don't you think having that much power and money isn't threatening at all?

If he used the weapons against us, it would have made the entire world angry at him and his country. It would never have been able to defend himself in a trial like he is trying to do now. He would have had even more enemies than he does now. And as for why I trust my own government: They haven't given me a reason not to, and it's ridiculous that you would even put them in the same light as a government like Saddam Hussein's.

As for Africa. You are absolutely right. Personally, I feel that the only way we can really help Africa is to destroy their dictator regimes. You can't keep pumping money into the continent and hope it will heal itself. THere needs to be infrastructure and government foundation laid before anything will work, and I'm all for trying to help establish that, even if it takes military presence.

No, you do trust him. He had weapons after the first Gulf War. The UN told him to destroy them. He said he did. The US said he didn't (he couldn't provide proof of the destruction of some of the weapons). By subscribing to the notion that there are no weapons there, you must either beleive (a)that Saddam destroyed them on his own or (b) that he shipped them out, those are the only explanations as to the weapons not being there anymore...unless you beleive in magic.

It's amusing how its just Americans who support the war. I can't think of one non-american who still supports the war in Iraq.

...but of course that just means we're all just jealous of their country. It doesn't have anything to do with the fact that it might be true. There's another group of people who believed so much in their own government and ignored the calls from the rest of the world...No points for guessing who they were, and what happened to them.

I don't buy this for a second. Why would he keep them then? If he thought as far ahead as you're considering, don't you think he would have ordered the elimination of the weapons? That would ensure the rest of the world wouldn't have reason to hate him.

...and I didn't put them in the same light as Hussein's regime. I simply believe if you put enough faith into a government as powerful as yours (when you don't actually have to - You're ALLOWED to question your own government, infact you SHOULD in order to keep it running effieciently and without corruption) you're dangerously allowing the wool to be pulled over your eyes should the need arise.

Why would he ordered them destroyed when he could have easily just sold them and got money instead?

What is he gonna do with money when his country is being destroyed by American forces who are out to kill/capture him?

Hell if I know, I'm sure he thought he could escape though. Maybe he would have bought some more gold plated MP5s
