You're right, the only thing Sirius doesn't have is MLB. That sucks. But in the southeast the Braves on every station so it's not too bad.
Most of the stuff I like about Sirius is stuff I found out after I bought it. I think it is the first thing that I have ever bought that was full of pleasant surprises instead of bad ones. Stuff that I didn't know that they had - or that has been added since I bought my first unit: Alabama football (they carry a ton of college football games) Radio Margaritaville (the station that Jimmy Buffett put together - he also broadcasts alot of his live concerts on this channel) Rolling Stones channel - (all Stones, all the time ... and now they have a channel for The Who) Radio Classics (old radio shows - Superman, Gunsmoke, The Shadow, etc) Howard Stern NHL, NFL, NBA National Rifle Association programming Blue Collar Comedy Channel (Jeff Foxworthy, Larry the Cable Guy, and friends) ------------------ BTW - I got it connected to my PC tonight and have been moving a bunch of MP3s into it. Sweet. ... but the transfers are a little slow. |

Sorry i didn't get a chance to post pics. I'll try to get some in this weekend when I get back home. Here is a link to the website - it has a little flash video about the thing: http://www.sirius.com/gs/stiletto/index.html
*edit * the video shows the unit lifting out of a base unit. That is the home or car kit - and does not come with the Stiletto. You have to buy that later - I haven't bought one yet and I don't think I will based on what I will use this for. Also the video shows a pretty fat battery on the back of the unit. That is the longer life version. The Stiletto comes with two batteries. I used the slim one during my run today. It fits flush with the back of the unit. The slim unit will give about 2 hours of sat radio or 10 hours of MP3 listening. This morning I went for about a 45 minute run with the unit on an armband. For the most part I got great reception. A few times the signal stuttered a little but not enough to be annoying. Overall the signal was great. I seemed to lost the signal for a second or two every time I made a 90 degree turn. I guess the unit has to adjust to the change in the direction it is facing. But it quickly recovered each time and held the signal strong for the next leg of the run. Fortunately this run is basically a big box so I only had four 90 degree turns. I'm really pleased with this purchase. The main reason I bought it was to be able to listen to the satellite stations while I run. Mission accomplished! and the sound quality is great. |
