You might be confusing that w/ muslims and islam.

the man who shot and killed those amish school girls was forgiven by the Amish community.

now i can see wanting to reach out to these kids.....but i think they should have worked something out like, they won't press charges against the kids if they help repair the damage and offer them to participate in their youth program or something. giving them freaking 360's is basically rewarding crime....they really are gonna walk away from this thinking crime does pay.
