I just got back from seeing it. The movie stayed true to the cartoon with respect to the cartoon like dialog and one timers. My only complaint is at times it seemed like one giant GM commercial. It felt like in every seen they had to pan by a GM, Chevy, or Pontiac logo.

this movie will go down as one of the greatest movies ever created

one of my favourite movies to date.. was so fun to watch. the audio was amazing with all the thumping and clicking, humming and buzzing and shit.

and the transformers were funny as fuck rock:

....

What the hell was that about?!

Thank God I have the TRUE 80's version on DVD and VHS.

As for now, I'm off to purchase a new Chevy and a 12 pack of Mountain Dew. Oh and if there's time, I'll put some stuff up on E-Bay.

Honestly, if you're a poser and you want to buy into the hype and commercialism, then go see it. Be sure you pay attention to everything, as you can't tell the diffrence between each robot or their faces. One thing you won't, and can't miss, is the GMC,Mountain Dew, HP,etc.. ads.

My advice, is to keep Transformers true and buy the 1986 Animated movie. It's like 10-15 bucks at Wal-Mart and holds true to the original story line and awesomeness that was Transformers. Shitty, but cool at time 80's Metal hair band music , Megatrons bad ass voice with awesome sayings, GREAT battle scenes and of course Orsen Wells gothic, almost scary at times final performance. Was also chock full of great actors.

This so called shit storm that is Micheal Bay's abortion of a fetus, is nothing more then Hasbro's attempt at launching a new line of toys and GMC's ploy to parasite hitchike onto those coat tails.

It feels like someone took one of my fond child hood memories and shit on it, after shitting on it, they laughed at me, pissed into it's mouth then formed a new GMC vehicle.

While I enjoyed the move, Airborne Butters does have a point. There is a lot of product placement ads in this movie.

However I'm a little more forgiving then he is. The only exception to the all GM lineup, was the black ford police car, however I think that was more of a dig between the old Chevy vs Ford wars. The Ford had so many add-ons you really could'nt tell it was a Ford (late model mustang)

The original cartoon movie from 86 was also considered to be a feature length toy commercial mainly bcause they killed off so many established characters and brought in new ones.

i can see where people might think the movie was corny or cliche, but i really really enjoyed it. i never go see movies in the theatres but i was really happy i went to see this, and i would go again. definitely entertaining.

Madmartagen 07-04-2007 06:24 PM

saw it this morning andi thought it was pretty good and i didnt really want to see it in the first place. i didnt notice the commercialism in it execpt for a GM logo every now and then, but its no big deal as you can cleary tell what type of make the car is.

Only real complaint i had was the voices werent able to be played by the original cast. Frank Weller is still big in the voice acting business, but its impossible to get Starscream voiced since the actor had died. It was cool hearing Optimus Prime/Peter Cullen though.

I'll see it again, it was good.
