Very true, aircooling these days normally means some kind of extreme retardedly sized slab of aluminium or copper inside the case. The stock coolers intel and amd provide aren't worth a fuck so a third party cooler is needed which just adds to the cost.

i'm using the stock cooler and it works fine.. my temps stay at around 25C at idle and 35-40C while gaming.. antec P180 airflow ftw

Yeah but a quad overclocked the heat belts out of it. Even at stock i think the intel cooler (and the retention system) is utter shite.

My case hasn't much in the way of airflow though, thinking of swapping it out for a coolermaster stacker eventually.

Id love to know what tard at intel came up with that design, 4 fucking holes. oOo:

Is it so hard to have something like the socket 939 or am2 design? Even the 478 design was far better than having 4 holes and a few pegs from a heatsink wedged into them. annoy:

I'd love to build my own pc one day. Custom everything, top of the line video cards and all that shit. But last time I was really deep into computers the nvidia 7800 gtx was king shit of all video cards..So I ask, what is the best video card out there to this date?

Really not happy with crossfire performance lately. Theyre getting sold on (hopefully) and an 8800 bought for the time being.

2x pcie connectors and 2x pcie 2.0 connectors along with the atx connector making up that large wad of wires there.

Been flip flopping back and forward. Had an 8800gts, sold it and bought a 2900xt, sold that and got an 8800gtx superclocked, sold that and got dual 2900's.

Was gonna sell these and go back to an 8800..but fuck it, new generation coming up in a few months anyway. Ive tried the best of both camps and nvidia definately has the edge this time around, their new card is meant to be coming early november conveniently just before crysis,( wonder how much that cost them to have crysis pushed to a date after the new card hit).

Wouldn't bet on it, video card companies are renound for not dropping their prices much, normally it takes a really long time after the new cards release for the older cards to come down in price. Other times they get a slight decrease in price and they stop manufacturing the older cards, so inventory just ends up drying up.

The new cards meant to be hitting anytime from november to january judging by their usual launch cycle.

Ended up selling my 2 2900's anywya, just waiting on payments clearing and i'll grab an evga ultra to take advantage of the stepup program.
