Where abouts is global?
There's no global folder in my MOHAA/main directory. Sorry if I'm being a tart about this, but I don't have a clue when it comes to editing stuff. Anyone help me out please? |
I actually saw one this morning that I smirked at:
Zoner91 was lit up like a christmas tree... heh heh I agree, though...most are stupid. Zone |
Of the standard messages - the one that annoys me most is the shotgun kill "Aristotle Jones was hunted down by...."
No, the other guy came round the corner and hit me with his one shot kill stick, or I got too close in the open, or as is mostly the case, he was waiting at a respawn point. Not hunted down - man that makes me mad mad: |
Forget kill msgs, I think my team names were the best. Instead of "John Doe joined the Allies" or "Jane Doe joined the Axis" , I had "John Doe joined the Good Guys" and "Jane Doe joined the Naughty Guys" Oh, and the bazooka self-kills said "Rocket jumps only work in Q3, foo!" heh

you have to make the global directory for the localization.txt yourself I believe. been awhile since I did it since my server's been down for months :(
we had some amusing lines on ours. one of my favorites was for the suicide deaths, "playername is out like a fat chic in dodgeball". took us like two days and 3 people to get a bunch of witty ones. sure there were some immature ones thrown in too, getting shot in the right or left hand wielded "playername was shot in the right hand.... no love from there tonight!" or something to that effect ;) or the ever popular variations of "threw the pin and not the grenade" which I've seen on lots of servers now and always gets me giggling... but overall I'd like to think people got a kick out of them (and many did, they often commented on them after dying). so if they're done right they can be amusing. |
