Shotties are fine with me. Especially because i am a sniper, and i rarely get shot with them. Its very entertaining watching a guy with a shotty try and storm a building when i am watching over it. *blam* ... *Popping head sound*

They cant hit me with their shotties when i am half a mile away. So, i don’t mind them. On the other hand, if any of my team mates encounter a shotty, *BLAM* There they go, and i have no one to support.

What I'm trying to think of is that people who have headphones can here a bird shit from 2 miles away. I have 5.1 surround sound and can hear a bird crap from 3 miles away. I changed weapon firing sounds around, so they don't sound like un-realistic stock crap! Sorry for having taste. You have a better computer than me, faster FPS so you must be a cheater!

I think the point needs clarified - the real problem people have with the shotgun is not actually the shotgun itself, but with the other weapons. Realism mods fix this.

For example, if I am a rifleman and am getting rushed by someone using a shotgun, in some circumstances the only thing you can do is to be patient, take aim, and fire. Now, if you do that in the retail version of the game you will most likely end up dead, because it will take you multiple shots to the chest (which should each be kill shots), while the shotgunner will need only to fire once. This is a bit unbalanced, and makes it easier to "rush" at people with a shotgun.

Now, I don't blame anybody for that other than EA. We all know the game isn't perfect, and so shotgunners are going to have a slight edge in certain circumstances that they otherwise wouldn't have - you'll just have to deal with it.

It is rather interesting at times, however, when I go on some servers and see everybody using shotguns, and these people then complain at the "campers" who stay back with their rifles. They are only doing what they can on a server that isn't running realism. The only way to combat a whole platoon of shotgunners is to negate their advantage by keeping a distance. I've been on a couple of servers where people accuse players who do this of "camping".

Butter Ball, I never said your sound mod was a cheat.. I said some sound mods are considered cheating. I then said yours would ONLY be considered cheating if any of the sounds you modded turned out to be more easy to detect.. IE: Louder, or more distinct than the originals.

Keep in mind people. I've had the same argument with no bush hacks.. Everyone insisted it was not a cheat for the longest time.

im gonna make a spearhead sound cheat consisting of the russian "woohoo" aka "booooorrraaaahhhhhhh" and bind it so i can spam it. this will then force the nazis to come out and surrender because their ears will be bleading.

As for the shotty, yes, it's very overweighed compared to other weapons, but it's not impossible to stop. If you see someone using it, and they're pissing you off, retaliate; use the bazooka! Snipe em! But please, don't go off on a rant saying the weapons sucks, the player sux, etc. It gets old real quick, guys.

shotgun is great on some maps...not all mind you. its a weapon applicable only on certain maps. I rarely see good shotgunners on DV, unless they stick to the buildings and prowl the confined areas.

IMO shotgun is not a n00b weapon. you hvae 5 shots...make em count...in between the pump action i can be riddled with smg bullets. so cover is crucial.

Butters ive played with you many times. If you abhore shotguns, then as peeps have suggested, play realism (but deal with mgs out the wazoo).

A funny story from last nights antics on the .|a.M|. (66.151.108.103). Some guy was bitching about the shotguns on Stalingrad. He said it was easy to kill with them. MeatHookJustice replied, "Why would you want to use a weapon that is hard to kill with?"......
