EASTON, PENNSYLVANIA:
well, i think it was the second or third spot where the new Declaration of Independance was read to the public from the original document. It was the richest place in the US before they had a railroad boom. It had the most millionares because of that. It was supposed to be the New York City but then the damn Railroads ruined it! mad: We are #2 in the country in High School Wrestling ermm some other stuff..i'll post later.[/quote:8040d] ah yes.....we have the Crola Factory here....it's a big hit. We have the oldest running to date highschool football rivalry--99 years i think it is. We play against Philipsburg directly accross from the Delaware river. It's an awsome sight really. About 10,000 people show up to see it and it was on ESPN once.....that was cool. |
Hmm...what's Houston known for?[/quote:09073]
Sam Houston. If you dont know who he is you should be slapped. http://www.shsu.edu/~smm_www/ |
Houston isn't really "known" for Sam Houston. It was just named after him... I think what the guy who started this topic meant was "what features of your city is it known for".
|
oh yea SPM is from houston.. man texas is just loaded with mexicans. anyway was your house flooded when those huge rains came thru a while ago. i wasnt in the US when that happend so i didnt manage to see how much of houston was underwater. oh yea houston is also full of mosquitos.

Joliet, IL. Most of the Blues Brothers (Prison), Stir of Echoes (downtown and local store where I met Kevin Bacon), and The Babe (Baseball movie scene where a party is at Rialto) movie stuff shot in town. Other stuff I'm sure too but, I don't pay much attention to my towns history.

Too much black sheep for you! Cape Coral Fl: Famous for...nothing. But Deon Sanders was the town next to us! |
Peterborough, New Hampshire were famous for our leaves in the fall. And if you come up to see them Ill blow your car up. The tourists crowd this small town for all of 2 months. They complain when it rains are are very annoying. And a guy set the world record for pushups in one of our stores. Ummm The most climbed mountain in the world is in the town over Mt. Monadnok. No longer do the Jap's hold this honor because they built a road up fuji. Thast about it.

Langley, British Columbia, Canada
There used to be a lot of grow ops in Langley hake: , more than anywhere else in the province I think, but now they're moving towards Vancouver. I think the large number of pointless, needless, misplaced medians on Langley's roads might be something we're famous for hake: Otherwise, Langley isn't really famous for anything. |
Staten Island: Wu-Tang.
