oh yeah, forgot about System of a Down |
system of a down? oOo:
we need an artist that has changed the way we see music. someone who broke down all the barriers, and brought on a new wave of music. |
yea seriously, SOAD suck sorry to tell you but they are just a bunch of nu-metal retards. BTW KaBong stop trying to make yourself look like a punk music expert because you're a complete moron.
|
Rap= NWA
Pop= Spice Girls Punk= Linkin Park and thats the end of that biggrin: |

[quote="Sergeant John W Martin":560dc]Rap= NWA
Pop= Spice Girls Punk= Linkin Park and thats the end of that biggrin:[/quote:560dc] BWAW HAW HAW HAW HAW HAWWW!! Dude, you need to listen to some real punk music if you think Linkin Park is punk. That's like saying Iron Maiden redefined Gospel music. |
Linkin Park ? Punk? That makes me sick!!!
The Ramones were the best punk band hands down IMO |
Slayer influenced the metal scene and so did Death.

Pre-Classical Rock: The Beatles (need I say more?)
Classical Rock: Led Zeppelin (you can guarantee Stairway To Heaven will be played in every single dance back in the 70's) Punk: Sex Pistols (started the punk craze in the basement clubs of Britan) Rap/Hip-hop: Public Enemy (put actual meaning behind the rhymes) Blues: John Lee Hooker (fucking legend the guy is) Modern Rock: Nirvana (Started the grundge thing and brought hair metal to a tragic end) That's my list. |
Maybe it's just because they are my favorite band, but how come Guns N' Roses isn't mentioned for metal/rock? I mean, you have how many kick ass songs from only 3 albums? How many incredible live performances with music legends side-by-side with Axl? Maybe you hate the guy but don't hate the music. I consider Led Zeppelin, Metallica, Guns and Nirvana to be the groups that changed music in their time, the only problem is that Guns pretty much fell apart between the rise of Metallica and the rise of Nirvana.
|
wtf!
Punk is obsolete!!! its very fucking simple what is the big deal, any guy whit 2 months on the guitar could easily learn any punk song!! we need something whit more musical content!! thats why i consider Metal the best music out there!! 1.-Iron Maiden 2.-Deep Purple 3.-Led Zeepelin 4.-AC/DC 5.-Judas Priest need more???? |
6.-Metallica (They Changed Music in the USa)
|
ed: Lynard Skynard you bastards. Lynard Skynard.

Aerosmith laid the rules for a few guys, they are the best band ever!
Take into account the Beatles though, not preffered to my taste of music but I respect them. |
beatles after they used drugs. before that to bubble gum pop
|
I have to say, Punk IS dead, there's a few modern punk bands but they're few and far between.
|
The punk now is overcommercialized crap. MTV plays the worst

Its not even punk really its just a boy band that can "play" an instument (i use the term play very very very loosely)
|
u guys watch mtv? theres still some actual good punk bands such as tsol, and anti-flag that still keep the traditional punk alive. yes punk is all commercialized now, but what isnt now a days. we have little kids mixing afi on their cds with 50 cent. its a sad world out there

60's. Hands down The Beatles
70's. Torn between Led Zep & Pink Floyd 80's. Early 80's Iron Maiden, late 80's Metallica 90's. Metallica 2K. Who cares, I to damn old now. |
Thats a very tough question that can't really be answered. You need to find groups or individuals who changed the way music was/is played.
Elvis Presley - The "King" of rock-n-roll Beatles - I only recently started liking them...but regardless, they were ahead of their time. Queen/Led Zeppelin/Rush - very innovative bands of the 70's. Metallica & Van Halen - Biggest bands of the 80's Nirvana & Tool - These bands ruled the 90's and developed a new breed of rockers. Present - Not too sure yet....this decade just started but 3 Doors Down and Godsmack are making their charge. As for Rap, the Sugar Hill Gang started it all....followed by Run DMC. These guys were the pioneers of rap....everyone came after. 80's Freestyle - TKA kicked off the Freestyle frenzy in NY with many artists gaining notoriety because of them. regardless if you like them of not, these groups had a big influence in their respective musical genres. |
well i dont watch mtv it is the same 5 videos played all day and it is all rap
