yes there are german cemetaries in france, believe it or not but some still exist in russia

Im pretty sure that landscape was from the Naval artillery barrage that the allies made on D-Day.

the Germans probably dug it out for trenches and things to run through there but over time erosion smoothed it over and grass started to grow.
