You make it sound like he has been putting money towards debt, when infact you're getting tax cuts, while paying for a war. Where do you think the money comes from? George Bush hasn't gotten the US out of debt, hes put you into more debt than ever before.

no, we just have a lot of stupid people,
when 20% of questioned Americans can't locate the Pacific Ocean on a map I get worried, its not like its one of those small Balkan countries that change names once a decade, it's the biggest friggin swimming hole in the world, hard to miss it.

ninty 11-12-2003 11:39 PM

Don't get me wrong. I like the states. I just think priorities need to be strightened out.

Even here we have major problems. Some of our priorities need to change as well. But we'll have a new rime Minister in a couple of weeks, so hopefully things will change, although with the liberal party this isn't likley to happen.

Weak economy my ass.

Were in wars big deal, so fuck off liberal scum.

You can suck my Conservative dick if you think dean will become a good president.

You know what democratic views on this are?

EITHER DO I. THEY HAVE NOTHING ALL THEY KNOW IS THEY HATE BUSH

Mr Kerry how do you feel about Iraq.

"I hate the war as much as bush, thats my stand I know nothing about the political debate and hope to say I hate busha few more times in my own pethetisism."

STFU boon, shows how much you know about politics.

whatever, i didnt even offer a political opinion. i merely asked why he thought bush is the best president in the last 20 years. you dont know whether i am a liberal or not, that wouldnt matter anyways. in fact im not a liberal, but im not a conservative either. i dont vote by party lines like you probably do every election. you prolly call people up and ask them if you can have their republican vote on each ballot.
but... if you want my political 'opinion,' clinton left this country with a projected surplus of $4.6T, and right now we have a $1.8T deficit. that is a fact, not an opinion. he also raided social security and medicare to pay for his '$1.6T tax cut that was tilted towards the wealthy. but its ok, we can blame the defecit on 9/11, right?
"Leave no child behind:' a statement republicans made to show they care about education. what is the situation now? schools in my area have doubled tuition because they lost federal funding. i didnt even qualify for a grant because at the time my part time $8 an hour job was considered 'well off' enough for me to pay my own way even though both my parents are disabled. I dont care though, because my personal spending is up, right? in Title 1 of the 'no child left behind act,' congress authorized $5.6B for spending on low-income children. bush only budgeted $1B to title 1. also, congress authorized support services and transportation for 130,000 homeless children. after bush's budget FROZE funding for these services, 138,000 children were fucked in the ass, bringing the total to 8,000 additional homeless children without support.

quote: "You can suck my Conservative dick if you think dean will become a good president."

where did you get that in "thats funny, how do you figure that?"

who the hell mentioned whether i liked dean or not? in fact, i wouldnt vote for his ass if it were him, gary coleman or ALF. i dont know who i would vote for now, but i have another year to decide.

oOo:

Like I said, you have no idea what your talking about

See? You're a perfect example of a RETARD.

Firstly - You clearly didn't pick up on Ferich's SARCASM.

...and I can't see how, what I posted above, is an example of me not having any idea about what I'm talking about....

BTW - I never said anything about disliking America, some of you are getting antsy about it and need to calm the fuck down.
I mean, on that list, my country is probably one of the poorest.

I'm simply saying that you cannot just blindly say your president is doing everything right - Like Snipey (Cold) is trying to say.
I'm also trying to say what Ninty is - For the great country you boast (Which in most cases, is rightfully so) you don't have your priorities straight in some areas.

I wouldn't have even brought it up, had Snipey not tried to justify the underfunded education system.

Vance 11-13-2003 07:27 AM

Didn't the GWP rise the most ever since the 80s? Or something like that?

pest 11-13-2003 08:04 AM

Some one explain this to me then.

If clintons good economy was due to the hard work of reagan and bush senior? And the economic downturn when bush took office is due to clintons policies, just how can bush be responsible for any economic gains made now???

I'm not making this up, these are all statements made by the current administration. How is this possible? Do they think I am too dumb to remember the line they fed me two years ago?

A HUNGRY FATMAN 11-13-2003 12:09 PM

NOW who ever says that the US education system is well off would be right if they lived in 1955 with there standers but has anyone looked at the Pihily school system. they had to open the schools to be runed by corperations because they didn't have and couldn't get the money to run them. the US school system is under funded by alot. On avarge school text books are 3 or more years old becuse schools can not aford to get new ones. Most schools do not have uptodate computers and the ones that do can barly afford to teach the staff how to use them. IN THE WHOLE US TEACHERS ARE ONE OF THE WORST PAYING JOBS. Because the govenment blames the teachers ununs for poor education qualyity and the teachers cant teach very well with out of date books and bulidings that are falling apart and you can not expect kids to learn if they need to watch the to see if the celling is falling down. The US education system good HA!!!! a good one would be germany or japan they found there schools more then the US dose right of the bat

Madmartagen 11-13-2003 12:45 PM

I guess it would depend on where you live. The public schools i went to werent bad, but they were obviously underfunded. I think one of the major problems are the kids themselves, you cant put the sole problem on the schools. i went to a school that was too old to have rewiring, the internet, or to have extra classrooms built, so they would rent trailers. you have a combination of problems ranging from the government/DOE, district, parents and students. maybe if some schools didnt waste their money on sports, they could afford more books or something. if they had more government funding, schools could have more of a variety when it comes to new learning processes. in the end it comes down to the students and whether they decide to arrive on time, bring their books, and to not get expelled.

Too many blanket statements to reply to at this time.
Yes our public educational system could use some work.
Some areas have excellent school districts and others are
very subpar. Economics does play a role in this. It also has to
do with living in a democratic country with federal ,state, and county
governments playing a role in the system. It would be almost impossible
to completely standardize the educational system in a country this large
with so many different levels of government involved. Some of it
comes down to personal responsibility. We have too many people in
this country who leech off the system and contribute nothing.
Why does almost every thread of this nature end up with
"lets bash America or it's president". I get sick of hearing it. For the US
citizens, if you don't like the US, get the fuck out or at least vote, get a
job , and contibute something. For the non- Americans, it's pretty
easy to sit on the sidelines and criticize the USA for everything. Yes, the
US has it's problems just like every other country does. Our problems
are just more visible because we are a major world power. Regardless
of how you feel about the USA, it is our economy that paces the economy
of almost all of the developed nations in the world. If the US went back to a policy of isolationalism as in the earlier part of the 20th century, most
countries (even Canada) would go into a depression that would be crippling.
Rant over... just sick of the US bashing

No one was "bashing" the U.S.....Someone said that Bush was the best president ever, and criticised everyone else for criticising him - When he asked for evidence for why people disliked Bush, the education system was mentioned - and it progressed from there.

I'm sure most of us stressed how much we DIDN'T Dis-like the United States (I know both Ferich and I did).....You need to take on of those pills.....I think it's call a 'CHILL' Pill, and stop putting words in our mouths.

Tripper, I wasn't directly calling you out and I did take note of what you said. Not trying to put words in yoyr mouths. This rant wasn't just for this thread. Too many threads do end up bashing the USA, the president(sometimes deservingly), or its policies(also sometimes deservingly).
A simple search would prove that. Most of the time, if a political topic comes up or is brought up in a thread offtopic, it ends up as OMG Bush sucks or something negative about the US. That was my point. I'm not worked up about it, no need for a "chill pill". Just firing back at some of the same bullshit I read everyday. Many times it's the US citizens saying it. This thread started out about defacing a monument and it degrades to people saying America sucks. I have the right to fire back. I don't need to put words
in your mouth, you can obviously think for yourself. NO I wasn't attacking you or what you said, just an anti American sentiment that pops up from time to time. cool:

I think most of the Anti-American sentiment comes from people like myself, who are sick of little sons of bitches who decide that their country is automatically BETTER than other nations, and they tend to look down their little immature noses upon smaller countries like mine.

That kind of attitude makes me sick, and I think you'll find that is where most of the Anti-American sentiment develops.....

I totally agree with what you're saying about the defacing of War memorial monuments. Absolutely disgusting.

Infact, I think EVERYONE on these forums would agree with you.
