totally different machines, the F-22 is a twin-engine US Air Force air superiority fighter, the F-35 is a Air Force, Navy, and Marine multi-purpose single-engine fighter (fighter-bomber really). The various branches will have slightly different versions, the Navy's version is reinforced to carrier landing, the Marine version has a lift fan for V-TOL, the Air Force version isn't burdened by these things and can carry more weapons or have better performance with same weapons. |
